Amazing how people with solar have no electricity bill.. it's free power! 🏆
Yep 20.94 a month for the fee stuff, probably higher this month I used my 80 gallon compressor a lot.

Unfortunately a rate case (increase) is in the works as we speak which will further make it difficult for the average person to live in or own in Havasu. The company (CEO) has spent a billion dollars on ridiculous renewable projects and an absurd Tucson campus renovation all while the government has given the company millions in green credits for those renewable projects yet they will use those costs and stranded assets in their upcoming rate case with the ACC. The company is also very poorly managed in most areas with many of the poor performing executive level leaders continually being recycled like beans in a shell game in and out of areas two and three times that they failed miserably in before. Gotta pay for those VP (like 11 of them currently) level salaries as well and the CEO's new 3 mil pad in the Tucson foothills.
*** keep in mind that if anyone at any time ever wants to complain about anything with the company do so to the ACC. It's super easy, guaranteed to be followed up on and it is the only type of complaint that the company will take seriously***

If these bills being posted are right I’m thinking I’m fucked.. I really gotta do something about this. We are gross abusers

We are about where TCHB is and we are only at the 9th day of the month on my measurement.. last month we were over 10k

I’m on APS.

3750 sq ft 100% electric and a pool. Largest bill was last month $375. We were home the entire time.

Sounds terrible, you guys should call and see if you and your vacation homes qualify for any sort of government subsidy 🤣🤣🤣
Right?

“If this electric bill gets any higher I’ll have to cancel one of our trips to the Greek isles, or at least downgrade to a 4 star hotel…I mean, it’s already the highest electric bill of all 5 of my houses…”
🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Someone gifted you a solar system?

If you spent 30k (not sure what they cost) over 10 years that is still 250 a month. Also, you do not know when the electric company will change the rules of the game.

We have decided to skip the entire summer and we keep our house at 85 when we are not there. Our monthly bill is a little higher than usual so it must be the sustained heat. The price per kilowatt hour is the same and nothing else looks like it has changed. Still cheaper than our house in San Diego.

He’s a culinary genius living in Havasu and not yet discovered by the rest of the world. I’d listen to him.

My islander bill is enough to not go at all in July and August. Seriuosly not worth the money when it's 115 out for many reasons

Today I had 4 people text me from Havasu with E Bills close to $500. The first thing I ask them is how many KWhs they used in the billing period? They did not know! I find it funny people do not know how many KWhs the used. My house with a pool In Havasu never went over 1826 KWh. I did not cool my 1800 sq. ft. garage.
Just got mine, $680 for one month. 😉

I was actually pleasantly surprised. 2250 feet with pool/spa that runs continuously from 8 AM to 6 PM. Thermostat stays at 83 when we aren’t there. Roughly the same size house in So. Cal. was over $700 this past bill.

Though it's not a swamp cooler year with the excessive humidity, nice to run one anyway when not occupied. They help somewhat keeping the house from over heating with somewhat cooler circulation and way less electrical draw than AC. Maybe not in the human comfort zone but will still keep the wall paper from peeling and rolling up.

Everyone forgets about swamp coolers. Save tons of money. A pun.
They still amaze me. Plus up ducts them to the attic and garage.

If the house has solar then it doesn't matter except except less credit on the elect bill running AC when you're not home.

Here in Simi we can run the swamp cooler until about 1PM, then AC until 10PM. We like the pleasant, cool quiet breeze running throughout the house.
We can run swamp cooler up until 100-105, but I shut it off in May when night stop dropping below 70 degrees.

I’ve got both A/C and swamp providing central air to my house. I also keep 1000 sf garage around 78F. This past two months were expensive.

I do average billing in Havasu. They recalculate every year. While my payment was $300, the bill would have been $610, the highest ever. However, i did have a problem with the TXC(?) part where the AC couldn’t keep up and ran more then usual. Hopefully this month is better

So how to get solar without paying sometime then?
Exactly, Ya' don't. Depending on what it cost you pay for 10 or so years of power up front. . Then you can replace the system and pay another 10 years in advance...

The hallucinogenic effect of " Not getting and electic bill" is stronger than Crack..

Pay off on my system should be about 6yr.s for Roi. Panels have a 20 yr guaranty to maintain 85% of new efficiency, so 14 yrs worth of free electricity before you need to reevaluate. System is owned outright so there is a increase in property value should I decide move. Overall it's a pretty sound investment for me , YMMV.

Not sure how the #'s work out in todays world??
But 6 years ago I was paying aprox $7k per year to Edison.
I paid for system outright that pretty much zeroed out my Edison bill, after my tax credit I was out of pocket 29k.
System paid for itself in just under 5 years.
With no Edison bill for the next 10 years or so I will have a lot of extra Shroom $$ ( I dont like crack) ;)

If you’re front loading ten plus years of electrical bills solar may not be for you.

But most systems are 20-25 year systems so by your math at 20 years you would have the new payment ready.

Utilities aren’t going down.

When I stared in this industry between 2-3 years was ROI in Hawaii under the first NEM, after state and fed incentives…. It was baffling when people declined….years after I got calls from people who regretted and wanted in somehow…ROI is 7-10yrs in most cases now

I sell the one I have manufactured for me...its poly fiber reinforced. I charge $400 per 1k sq ft roll. Sold under my brand name. This isn't the garbage stuff that rips. It's great and I've had a ton of it installed in TX and in AZ. Can be installed for $1.50/sq ft (base price) in Havasu or PHX including material. But I require 1 solar fan per 800-1k sq feet of under roof for ventilation or I won't warranty it. Will start booking installs for Late NOV-Mar soon. Radiant barrier is one of the best bang for the buck things you can do.
I have no idea what your business is other than what you have stated here. Do you do insulation in conjunction with the radiant barrier? I am in Scottsdale and need to redo or add to my insulation.

It’s a side deal to me. But yes I prefer to do blown in fiberglass, radiant barrier, and solar fans all on one deal. It makes it cheaper since they will be in the attic already. Shoot me a DM and we can chat, I’ll give you my 2 cents on it for free. I’m in the renewable industry..energy efficiency is something I’m big on. The attic is a great place to start on making your house more efficient and this dropping your utility costs

What you are not adding is the price for kilowatt today and what it is going to be in the next few years. My solar was figured on todays rate and I pay what my bill normally was. When the price of kilowatt goes up in the next year or two I am paying todays rate for kilowatt.

How do they know that is where the electricity went in your house?

Every motor, every light fixture, every fridge, etc has its own “signature”.

I purchased a “sense” unit a few years back. You put it in your electrical panel and it will tell you what you are using and exactly what is using it..

It knows the individual ac’s on my motorhome, to my garage ac’s each fridge and freezer. It tells me when my wife makes a smoothie in the morning. Lol (no joke)

Here’s a couple screenshots from it measuring.. thing is pretty amazing by if ya like to track your electricity.

Had no idea that you could do that. With your bill I would want to know too.

Does solar with battery do anything out there? Or is it only enough to run the AC an extra few hours a day

The problem I have with UniSource updates on my electricity use is that every month I am reminded how inefficient I am.

How do they come about these statistics in the city were a good deal of the population is not here during the hottest part of the summer and thermostats are set at higher temperatures.

Are you damn vacation home owners with your solar are triggering me! 😝🤣

Admittedly I dont know shit about this stuff so what I write is with no knowledge !!
Last years bills from Unisource was about $300 @ for the 3 summer months, house is 1700 sq ft and we live in it . Keep A/C at about 76.
Had solar installed at the end of summer.
Fast forwrd to last three months which balance due was $0 until I got Julys bill from Unisource and it was $159, I have to admit that the garage A/C was left on just to see the difference.
I went to Havasu Solar to question the increase and was told that Unisource had a rate increase and leaving the A/C in the garage on plus the increase in temps was the reason???
This is with a base pay for the system of $120@mo. and I have no idea if I did good or bad having solar intalled, hopfully I didnt step on my dick ???????

No reason to do battery in havasu… solar in havasu is actually pretty low ppw so if you can pay cash vs finance fees the ROI is not bad.
