I have a buddy that retired to Havasu probably 20 years or more ago, he's an avid bike rider. He was in Boulder city training and had a hell of an accident, He doesn't remember the wreck, but he over cooked a turn and crashed, He ended up breaking his pelvis in three places, broke a couple ribs, broke right forearm, and ruptured his bladder.

He's had a couple of surgeries, and is going through rehab now. And I spoke with his son here in Whittier at length, and my buddy seems to be doing well.

My question is do any of you ride, and might know my buddy, his name is Bob and is an avid bike rider. He's 77 now. and I doubt this will stop him from riding.

He was once ranked number one in the united States in the Amateur senior class.

Sounds like a brutal fall. Glad to hear he's on the mend and the accident didn't involve a conflict with an auto and "lane rights."

I bet he's more fit than 99% of the membership in here. 👍
I worked with him for over 20 years, he is 15 years my senior, we would do a 2 pm to 10pm shift and he would do a 60 mile loop on his bike down to HB and back to Pico Rivera before work. At first I joked great he will be smoked and it will be an easy day. All it did was pump him him up, he would be on double speed. The guy is probably one of the most fit guys I've ever met, and his son is a good friend also and he is the same.

Talking to his son it was a brutal crash, and he is already wanting to see his bike.

I just wondered if anyone here rode, I know that's a tight knit group.

Sounds like he was unconscious for awhile, and his helmet was split, but no brain injuries.

Hope he’s OK. I get it, You do what you do. But the hell if I’m getting on a bicycle anymore. Too many retirement, injuries and fatalities.
