Speaking of Yellowboat... He has been MIA for over a month. That guy was a daily poster with some "interesting" stories.
Shintooooooo care to explain why Lexuit guy doesn't post anymore. 😂

Order from Young Guns or Biad Chile
Neither have true hatch. They’re all the smaller with less flavor. Going to have the in laws deliver 2 sacks from New Mexico once they’re ready.

They are both growing in Hatch and Las Cruces. NMSU literally is the place most of the varieties were developed.

Safeway in Bullhead. All they had was mild. ElRey Farms is doing a drop in Whittier starting in August. Have 2 sacks of hot ordered.

So, Tyler.
I have about 6 Hatch chile seeds sprouted:cool:

I know, I know.
It still won’t be a real “Hatch” chile.
That’s ok, it’ll be a nice second place:)

I grow Anaheim’s, Pablano, and jalapeño too:D
The Anaheim’s aren’t really Anaheim’s either.
I live in Riverside.
:D
I know this is an old post @Gelcoater

maybe call them Jelcotos 😊

I need to get me some more but this covid bs put a stop to my connection. Had a buddy that made the annual trip to nm and brought back a pickup bed full to sell . Damn good for my homemade chilli verde

Damn I need me some Hatch chili’s for Pozole season coming up!

got a batch from a buddy of mine last year and thefucker mislabeled the hot for xxxhot chili’s.

Best Pozole I’ve ever made but I was the only one that would eat it!

I ordered them on ebay from a guy in New Mexico. You can use the seeds inside too.

They spice up just about any "sauce" based dish. I make a chicken dorito casorole with these that is the hit of any meal. I have also used them on loaded nachos supreme 👍

We went through ElRey Farms. They’re distributing from Whittier. Not sure if they have any weekends left

Picked a bunch of random peppers yesterday. Cooked them down to make some taco hot sauce. But they came out pretty sweet. I may cook it down and make barbecue sauce out of it.

last year when they were in season I bought a bunch, gutted a couple and planted the seeds.🤷‍♂️
I like them on all sorts of things. On a chicken breast sandwich, big slab of green chili. On hamburgers. In ground beef tacos.
Mixed with a can of baked beans, and some sausage, smoked and topped with bacon.
Stuffed with cheese and shrimp, and wrapped with bacon 😎(edit, and spinach)
Endless options there if you like chili’s

I'm here in Albuquerque now. Be back to Havasu in a week or so. If anyone is of need I may be able to be bribed. Stocking up myself ;-)

I put them on the BBQ to blister on each side. Let them cool slightly and put them in a plastic bag in the fridge. Peeled off pretty damn easy.

I didn’t.. The first directions i read were to put them in a dry pan to char. Didn’t work for shit. I tried on the stove top next. No go. Went outside on the BBQ and it was pretty quick.
Here’s what they looked like post cooling down
