Hey I dont know if this is the best place to post this but ill give it a try. Im looking to install a hatch actuator onto my ultra and ran across a site that sells actuators. These are not us coast guard approved nor built for marine application but they are splash proof/ waterproof. Here is a link let me know what you guys think.

Also I like the aluminum look of these over the run of the mill black ones that dana and rex marine offer.
Thanks guys

I think the only difference in the non marine actuator is the electric motor may not sealed as far as us coast guard spark regulations go. Or maybe it is and the manufacture just didn't have it certified. I guess my biggest worry is that when the hatch is closed the fumes inside could possibly ignite?

I like the price, and you could always use one of these cover boots. I would think that it would solve the issue of non marine?

I didnt even see those covers until you posted that picture up. I think Im gonna bite the bullet and order one up. You cant beat the price compared to the dana actuators.

Let me know how you like it, with my new interior project, I am going to build my hatch in a few months, and the price of this makes it possible to have an actuator instead of air shocks.

Yeah man if I end up going this route ill let you know whats up with them. Air shocks aren't really an option for me anymore. I just re-did the stereo in my ultra and built a couple of 6x9 boxes that hang off the bottom of the hatch and the new combined weight is way too much for the ones that are in there now. Also I want to be able to only lift the hatch enough for the speakers to be exposed.

If you go with an actuator make sure the hatch hinges is secured with screws and not thru bolts, when the actuator fails its a bitch to get in there

Mine had an access hole behind the rear seat cushion where you could reach in and pull the pin on the actuator

I've see a cable system hooked up to pull the pin on the hatch. I liked that idea. A hole in the back seat would work too.

my boat has 2 access holes in the back seat as well where there are two straps to secure the hatch down. I think the hole is probably big enough to get your arm in there and pull the pin if there was ever an issue. I also put my battery isolator switch under the rear switch so I when I wire the actuator and switch in I wont have an issue with power.
