I have been rear ended twice on the freeway in stop and go traffic. Both times my hitch punctured their radiator and my truck had only minor scratches.
I'll leave it in even if I sell every trailer I own.

It’s the only thing in life that will really take us back to when you were a kid and that spiked pedal on the box bike came around backwards like the hand of god..

And yes I’ve done in quite a few times living in Havasu. lol. There’s hitches everywhere.. nowadays I give it a wider birth, because that shit will bring you to your knees and it hurts more when you are older..

A Prius driving libatard coworker came back from lunch break complaining he whacked his leg on one in a parking lot and ranting about how it should be illegal blah blah blah. This all happened while my truck was in the parking lot with a nicely greased ball waiting for its next victim. Yeah, it brought a smile to my face 😂

I thought I heard that you can get a ticket in ca for not removing it. Mines been in for 20 years . Total cars damaged 3 counting mine when a semi was sneaking through a parking lot and caught my hitch. Took my truck for a little ride.

My wife just showed me that. Look at his steps leading up to the hitch, staged.
If it's staged, he still hit it. You can see the truck move when he hits the ball with his leg.

Yes, I understand It’s illegal to leave your hitch in. You can also be held liable from the insurance company if you get rear-ended for excessive damages.

We’ve all done that!

I’m just glad I wasn’t running when I did it!

Honestly its been a long time for me. I grew up on a farm. Everything that moved had a hitch sticking out the back.

The one that occasionally still gets me, but never badly, is when I stick a hitch on the Explorer. Its almost never there and being in and out of the gate all the time, I'm not used to it.

Both… the suburban is the baseball shuttle. That stupid hatch has closed on me and my dad a few times.

Maybe, if it’s blocking your license plate.

If I don't leave it in I'll forget it when I need it.

Same here. I leave it for that same reason! 👍🏼

I've only done that once. That was more than enough for me.

100% staged. I bet he had a soccer shin guard on.

I've done that once and learned my lesson.

Ouch. All been there.

Advantages to a minor disability. Good parking, and I can’t walk fast enough to do any damage to my shins. :)

I've done the hitch thing plenty times, but what's worse is I slammed the suburban hatch on my dad's head one time by accident. I felt so bad about it. Now I always double check when slamming things lol
