It seems to me that the internet and all its fucked up algorithms is turning into a pile of never ending monetized shit. You try and search for anything it’s just an endless string of digital panhandlers trying to make a buck offering services for a fee that can usually be done for little to no money if you go right to the source. I’m getting pretty fed up with muddling through this endless line of monetized bullshit. If you search for a resource all of the top listing are just paid bullshit now, then you have to weed through a bunch of websites to find one that is actually of value for what you are looking for.

I can see why people just hire secretary’s and other people/services to go jack off on the internet for them and waste their lives going down the rabbit hole of monetized bullshit. I’d be willing to pay good money for a non monetized internet (wrap your melon around that one) where real people can get real shit done without all the bullshit in the way.

Just spent 2 hours trying to register an account with the Secretary of State to file some $5.00 deal thats gonna cost $1000 to have some dickhead do for me because I’m now caught in a purgatory of account establishment verification loop from hell😂

when all else failed in the past you could always hop on YouTube and find some information, now it’s 3 commercials and then a couple minutes pitch about liking my content so I can keep doing this and not get a real job before you find out that the person is a dip shit and you go back and start over again with some other dipshits content.

Thoughts?

Same here x25. The lion's share of "PPC and SEO consultants" are incompetent and/or scammers. I have an acquired business website that is using one of these and they are 3 years behind. The business unit leader is having a cow that I plan to fire them at the end of the year.
FOLLOW THE MONEY -research the BUSINESS LEADER..... he might have a chip in the game.

I look for the shortest video on youtube when looking for help on something, normally it's the best one.

The irony of complaining about the internet……..on the internet. 🤔🤪

Is that like complaining about wakeboard boats on the river while you're having a beer at Fox's? 🤣

Web 1.0 was rad, I remember specifically the moment I realized there were tits to be seen on that fancy calculator in the corner of the living room around 1990 when I was about 14 LOL

Web 2.0, I didn’t give two shits until I was reading hotboat magazine and saw a full page add saying they had a website. I actually learned how to use a computer because of that fucking forum.🤦‍♂️ We’re now at a point where Web 2.0 has run its course and is just an advertisement thing with cat videos or dick pills. Joe Rogan might end up being President at some point as he’s kinda shot calling like a boss right now🤷‍♂️

Web 3.0, doesn’t yet exist for the masses, only dickwad anti social pieces of shit who were raised as digital natives and don't know there is a real world out there where mother fuckers will bury you over $50.00 while they liberate millions of dollars from people who are trying to invest in these turds and and profit on their backs as they build the next iteration of the web. I believe those web3 turds will get buried when they fuck over the wrong dudes and I will be happy to lend them a shovel.

Personally I’ve seen enough, I have a limited amount of time left on this planet, I no longer care to waste any of that time on dumb shit or dumb people 😂

I use duckduckgo and brave. Takes a lot of the shit away. The other main thing that got rid of ads was getting rid of fagbook. All the targeted ads stopped.

DDG has a hidden agreement with Microsoft...This below was taken from itpro.com. DDG imposes restrictions for other sites though and restricts Microsoft to a point.

However, there is no mention of the agreement with Microsoft to stop loading Microsoft-owned tracking scripts on third-party websites. This means services like LinkedIn and Bing can still gather user browsing data when their trackers are loaded for DuckDuckGo users on other websites.

Gabriel Weinberg, CEO and co-founder of DuckDuckGo, addressed the situation in a lengthy Reddit post on Wednesday, admitting that its contract with Microsoft means the company’s “all-in-one privacy apps” cannot afford the same protections to users as they can from other companies like Google or Meta.

Weinberg said that DuckDuckGo imposes restrictions on all third-party tracking scripts, including Microsoft’s, relating to third-party cookie and fingerprint protection, and also adds an “above and beyond protection” that blocks third-party tracking scripts from loading on websites.

The CEO said this is something that most other browsers don’t attempt to do because blocking such scripts often leads to visited websites breaking.

The reason why DuckDuckGo has to permit Microsoft’s third-party trackers for Microsoft only is due to distribution requirements associated with its agreement to display some Bing search results in its browser.

“While a lot of what you see on our results page privately incorporates content from other sources, including our own indexes (e.g., Wikipedia, Local listings, Sports, etc.), we source most of our traditional links and images privately from Bing (though because of other search technology our link and image results still may look different),” said Weinberg.

Sorry to see you go, keep sending texts on occasion. Unplugging is hard, but noble. Somewhere along the way, I became an optimist, I have no idea how that happened, but I still see the sunny side of the web, maybe because it truly makes my life better. I'm free to live where I want and don't have to waste time sitting in traffic. I will trade weeding through spam over commuting to a job any day.

I was researching an older boat last night and the web and primarily this forum quickly provided a wealth of knowledge I might otherwise never have learned.

And a great way to meet internet crazies who are like yourself to enjoy when you have the time off. 👍 It is funny to look back at just a year ago and I knew a few of these people but a year later I look at the photo and I have had the honor to have met most in the image a few times. The internet is like most in life it is what you make of it…..

I’m pretty good at not engaging with things and people that are a waste of time and energy. I’m not unplugging yet, but it’s definitely a goal to be less accessible as I get older and live a simpler life without distractions. I see the value in certain aspects of the internet, access to information is essential. What’s not essential is access to bullshit information that you have to vet six ways to Sunday only to find out it’s bullshit and get spammed and hacked during the entire process. The powers that be are treating the masses like mushrooms, feeding them shit and keeping them in the dark.

The reason for this thread was that I needed to file a $5.00 document with the Secretary of State. Their website was not functioning as it should (big surprise California) while attempting to circumvent this time sensitive situation there was literally a sea of endless paid services to do this same task for hundreds and even thousands of dollars blocking the path to the $5.00 do it yourself option. At two hours into the process you have to ask yourself what your time is worth and consider outsourcing it one of these services that are blocking the actual path to get it done as their business model. As it turns out we already had an account in place to do this $5.00 process directly with the SOS office, I handed the task over to admin and it was completed in 5 minutes for $5.00 because that’s what they do for me and I need to stay in my lane 😂

We have lived and come of age during a strange time in human history, I knew life before the internet and now know life with the internet. At some point our generation will be dead and gone, it will just be digital natives who know nothing different than what has been designed for them to live under.

I see your point, I think maybe the region is contributing to the experience. Hustlers gotta hustle.

Consider this:
The tale of two Barbers.

Montana Barber. No online reservations, no phone reservations, no sign-in sheet. Old school, you walk in you sit down and you pay attention to who comes after you through the door. You have little idea how long it will take. It has never been less than an hour's wait, sometimes longer. I have a pretty good idea of the wait time based on how many people are standing in the doorway. As such I turn around and walk out 30% of the time.

Havasu Barber. Online reservation only. I spent 3-5 minutes choosing a time that worked for me, I showed up 3-5 minutes early as a courtesy, and I was out of there in a half hour.

I have only one choice in Montana, so switching is not an option. You don't even think about complaining to a Barber, but in Montana, he simply will not cut your hair. Most of the summer, I need a haircut. The Havasu Barber is a much better experience. I use the internet to reserve a time, I use the internet to create a reminder on my calendar, and I use the internet to book more often. The internet makes it much easier for the barber as well.

I don't get dick pill ads when I visit the barber's website, but perhaps the PPC guys will figure out that this is a gold mine of retargeting someday.

I've seriously considered Barber School as a retirement plan. I could beat the hell out of the Montana Barber and I could rent a seat in Havsu for Winter. I'm just not sure I could stand all day 10 years from now.

I have Montana on my mind a lot these days. I’d like to get something set up there in free America sooner rather than later. For now il continue to explore when I have the time until I find my place. I think you and Angie have it figured out pretty good and are L I V I N the dream.

There is a whole different existence out there with my name on it😉

This made me think of you and thought I would share.
Tonight's soundtrack; at risk of attracting undesirable types I have to agree, that we are blessed to finally realize a decade-long dream and planning. As I was leaving the hardware store this evening I felt at peace. I find myself listening to this kind of music more often as I drive painfully slower than the speed limit, just because I'm not in a hurry.

All that said, the mountaintop across from our sanctuary got a dusting of snow, signaling our need to fly south. Snowbird season is coming to LHC.

Short answer.. it’s the biggest dumpster fire since disco.. I’ve pretty much cut it out my life. I wish more people would follow to make it be changed back to what it was in the 90s. I deleted all social media I don’t do you tube I use some foreign copy cat of it. Until they stop forcing gay shit and irrelevant search results. I will continue to not use the internet for anything but my gps system
Grads? 😆😁😆😁😆😆
