I travel a lot and I have no issue traveling domestically right now. Some of my industry events (conferences) have been cancelled the past couple of weeks. I’m actually sitting on a plane right now bound for San Jose and the lady next to me just wiped down her arm rests with sanitizing wipes. Been seeing that more lately. Saw only one mask wearer so far this morning at SNA.

All biz trips to Asia cancelled for foreseeable future which I see as a positive. On the phone more every night/morning with Asia fiiguring out how to recover/rebuild our supply chain and keep customers happy. Zero domestic trips cancelled for biz/fun. Not worried at all about virus taking me out, just taking normal precautions.

SHHH, don't tell them!
I'm currently loading my stacker with "Luxury Brand" toilet paper. Going to make a Bandit run to OC. Stop in Havasu on the way back and buy me something nice for summer :p

I see a real business opportunity here. We go load up at CVS and Walgreens. Then we set up a stand in the Costco parking lot like the Girl Scouts pitching cookies. We could even tape a few 8 packs of ass wipe together so it feels like an actual Costco pack. We mark it up 8 or 10 times what we paid, and before you know it we will have the baddest DCB’s and Schiada’s in the land.

My wife and sister-in-law cancelled their trip to Japan. Getting refunds.
Hasn't affected me at all, except my wife will be home for 2 weeks.

Not really doing anything out of the norm here other than being aware of what is going on. Wife works for a large corporation and they have stopped ALL business related travels. My business and personal travels will not change at this time being that they around medical travel for the wife quarterly. Plus I have to keep my platinum status. I can’t loose my double miles and Pre boarding. LOL We had planned to go to Europe in October. We are still planning and will go at some point this year or next for sure. Not pulling the trigger until after April to get the green light from the wife’s Oncologist in San Francisco after the last round of chemo and that MRI.

For those coming to Hawaii there has not been any issues as of yet. Chinese, Taiwan and Korean travel is down but it is only a small percentage to begin with like 1-2%. Most of the travel into the islands is coming from the US. Only concern is that you could be the first to come down with something and you could be stuck in paradise for two weeks.

Not one bit. My youngest daughter has been in New Zealand for the last month and says there is no mass hysteria there, like here. My oldest is smack dab in the middle of Asia, she’s at UCLA, no issues there either. This virus should concern everyone as much as the common flu virus concerns you.

The stock market tanking is a buying opportunity and a benefit IMO.

People hoarding sanitizer, wipes, TP, water is just silly. Turn the faucet on people! You can even boil water if needed.

Work travel is restricted for 60 days. Works for me, but my job is largely remote anyways.

We are also getting prepared for shows to cancel. already had my normal show for SXSW do that.

Nope, still headed to Newport Dunes last week of March with an Angels Game, Midevil Times and Disneyland day planned. Also want to go back to the Petersen Auto Museum while we're in town.
Chicago in May
Hawaii in July
Pops is headed to South Tx next week, and Holland in July. Inlaws just got back from 2 weeks in South Africa and leave for 2 weeks in Tahiti in April or May.
I'll let you know what our Alien Town (Roswell NM) Sam's club looks like a little later today.

I'm loving the fact I rolled a bunch of money out of the market a few weeks ago into cash.

Funny about TP... we were in Costco last weekend and they had the Charmin on sale at $4.50 off a case. I bought 2 cases just because it was a big discount.

Now they have a "shortage"

Similar 'air travel restrictions' work email as previously posted.

We have a Las Vegas trip planned over Easter. Nothing changed over here.

It is funny how 'the media' talks about washing hands... shit, that should be an everyday practice... not just because of some virus. Sick fucks at my building do not even use the sink in the work restroom

...and setup near Der Weiner and China Buffet style places. Think 5$ a gallon for gas in Needles is bad? Not when you need it;) Same goes for paper goods.

Corona Virus has not. The media's needless frenzy they're creating has!!!! Wife had a trip scheduled to leave today to Hawaii with a girlfriend for her birthday. Lodging cancelled (VRBO-ish scenario) and parents went off on wife and girlfriend for even thinking of flying.

I'm going to New Zealand on April 2nd with my 16yo son for 10 days. 16 hour flight and I'm not worried in the slightest. Asked my pilot buddy (flies for United) if I should wear a mask on a 16 hour flight and he said, "Only if you want to look like an idiot because nothing else will be achieved!"

No affects here....Flew to Honolulu on Monday out of LongBeach then connected over to Maui. I didn't see much masks on first leg but when I got to Honolulu airport where all the Asian folks where connecting the terminals where loaded with maskers. Just thinning the herd... hanging for a bit at my buddies Maui ranch away from any madness. Easy to unplug here.... although here I am on RDP, lol.

Completely ridiculous, total bunch of sissy's. That kind of nonsense perpetuates the false fear of this illness.

Funny, I was just thinking that "hugging" was never an issue anywhere I worked...
We ended tailgate or safety meetings with a heart felt "Now go fuck yourself, and try not to die"
No fist bumps, no cheers...and nope, no hugging 🤔

Will you be going to Queenstown?

I served my mission in NZ in 96 and 97. I know you live in Utar and know us Mormons, lol. I've been back once with wife about 15 years ago. Never been to Queenstown once and not going this trip either. Lot's of things to see and lot's of friends to visit. I'll have to do Queenstown another time.

Considering we just canceled an auction in Italy. No it’s not. We are directly effected by this and it will get worse.

With the first CA death and the virus only being a mile from my house a lot of shit is about to change for me. I'll only be going in public places on a "need to" basis for a while. We normally eat out 3-7 times a week and that is going to come to a screeching halt.

Affected as in my wife has had two Kaiser Permanente conferences cancelled in TN and IL.

We are getting bombarded with precautions after the med screener at LAX got it this week.
REMINDER: the MED screener at LAX was in a CORDONED AREA
She most likely failed proper self hygiene (don’t touch your face)

I survived swine flu, sars,
This is the same, keep yourself clean and keep your damn hands off your face

In two weeks this thread will be over 500 posts long and have a much different tone. Maybe a week. Not saying everyone is going to die but a bunch of people are going to be impacted.

I agree! That’s why I started the thread to see how far and how fast.. and when we should be making a run on toilet paper.. lol.

I’m not sure I get that as being the end all prepper

I agree. It may not be directly, but the impact will be felt. Be it from the cancelatons of trips, or the disruption in the supply chain, things will get worse before they get better. We are just starting to see the effects of boats not making port. The lead time also means they will take a bit to come back. I worry more about the economic impact than the illness, at least at this point.

Times may get tough...some of us may need to downsize from limos to towncars ;)

YES! The emergency room was Fn packed last night with coughing masked people. tried urgent care and both closed early due to overload exhaustion. What a wonderful experience as many folks use the ER for a cold. amazing how many frequent flyers bring their own blankets
Got there at 7:50 and left at 1:50.

btw she is sore and bruised but will be fine eventually after being the passenger
