What is everyones plans for this National holiday?????

I am at work with NO holiday pay.
Same here. Except all City offices are closed. So some functions of the Building trade are on hold for a day.
And then there are those Cities that are closed on Friday also. It can really F' up job progress......

It’s a company holiday, but it also F’d my entire week.
Ended up working 16 hours on Monday and another 18 yesterday to accommodate customer requests this week. Thursday will be another 12+ hour day, then Friday I am cutting out at lunch.

So while it is a holiday, I ended up killing myself this week to make sure all my customers had coverage while I spend today wiring my Jeep to flat tow.

Our school district opted to shift the holiday observance to Monday so at least I got a three day weekend out if it, and a shorter 4 day work week.

Like every holiday, most don’t care what it’s for as long as they don’t have to go to work.

Off today, company is closed. Would prefer the holiday towards the end of July or beginning of August since we have Memorial Day at the beginning of summer, roughly a month later we have 4th of July, then roughly 2 months later we have Labor Day. Would have been good to break up the long stretch between the 4th and Labor Day...

Working like always, CDK is down nationwide, this means 60+% of all dealerships are without our main computer systems. We can't contract a sale or write a service repair order, Happy Juneteenth!!

Looks like CDK could be out for quite some time.

Working (we haven't adopted today as a Holiday) and then this afternoon I get to fly to Columbus, OH for a 2 day meeting. Please, don't be jealous.

Do I think it should be federal holiday? Probably not.

Do I appreciate that there is no traffic and I am getting ahead of those who constantly look for time off? Yes and Yes.

I don't really care what they call it... I'm getting ahead and making it to work in 25 mins 👍

Make some actual progress in your life instead of fake ass virtue signaling while taking the day off 💰

Dealing with a bunch of customers who aren't getting "free same day shipping" today because the post office is closed....and they're all too cheap to pay an extra $5 for UPS (which is running today).

I don't have a problem with today being a national holiday. We celebrate the freedom of 86% of the population on July 4 and the freedom of the other 14% today. Of course, one could argue whether they really attained freedom once Jim Crow was enacted, though the Civil Rights era solidified it. Anyway, I don't understand the hostility some have towards the holiday.

What I DO have a problem with is a whole damned month for the alphabet people. If I'm going to get my panties in a wad, it's not about taking a day to celebrate a significant portion of our US population gaining freedom from slavery. But that's just me.

I was very productive with my day off. Started my sourdough adventure, dug up a 50 gallon bag full of thistle; I have about 1/2 the property clear of it. I weeded the entire garden, planted a whole new raised bed with strawberries and watermelons, and weeded part of one of the flower beds in the front yard. Now for some wine on the deck to watch the deer and listen to the birds. Have a good night y'all. ❤️
