Damn Angie you are definitely an over achiever . Enjoy your wine .....I don't have a problem with today being a national holiday. We celebrate the freedom of 86% of the population on July 4 and the freedom of the other 14% today. Of course, one could argue whether they really attained freedom once Jim Crow was enacted, though the Civil Rights era solidified it. Anyway, I don't understand the hostility some have towards the holiday.
What I DO have a problem with is a whole damned month for the alphabet people. If I'm going to get my panties in a wad, it's not about taking a day to celebrate a significant portion of our US population gaining freedom from slavery. But that's just me.
I was very productive with my day off. Started my sourdough adventure, dug up a 50 gallon bag full of thistle; I have about 1/2 the property clear of it. I weeded the entire garden, planted a whole new raised bed with strawberries and watermelons, and weeded part of one of the flower beds in the front yard. Now for some wine on the deck to watch the deer and listen to the birds. Have a good night y'all.
