Bottom was changed in 1991 I believe. If you can, find a 91 or newer. I had a 91 and a 97 both worked excellent.
Bottom was changed in 89. I prefer the old bottom with no pad like my current Vector with the 18* transom

Yes, that sounds correct. You know the history well.
Really liked my 91, had them put an insert in the mold and eliminate the raised transom for the outdrive. They made four that way in 91 at the same time for v-drive boats.

They look rad like that. I contemplated doing that to mine but I decided to raise the exhaust and move the tips outward as well to make it look like it was there for a reason. Definitely has a unique look in my opinion. Do you have any old pictures of your two vectors? Would love to see them! Here’s a picture of mine showing what I was explaining.

Hallett21 - Those are great pics. Think the raised exhaust might have looked good here, to many decisions to make.

Looks great! Thats how my boat used to be. I personally just like the sound of the exhaust better when its out of the water. Really excited to see that beauty done. Looking forward to seeing it on the water. Where will you be boating?

I am in Havasu - I had a question on driver seat height and distance from dash - do you know your dimensions ? we will be doing a mock up but curious on a starting point. I am 5'8" and shrinking 😅

My seats are very low in my boat. The seat bases are only 4” tall. My boat is in storage out there so I’m not able to give you an exact measurement

My old Hallett V drive cruiser is back for sale. It was in good shape when I sold it but the guy who bought it really got it dialed in and addressed a few things that need attention.
I know it’s not a Vector, but it is a Hallett SS vdrive. It’s a solid 80-90 mph boat that handles great. It is NOT a project and it’s a fraction of what a Vector will cost. Again, I realize it may not be as sexy as a Vector but it is a really nice cruiser.
