Unless you know something different--only option is to consider is giving them the benefit of doubt.
--trust but verify.

Do tell--what makes you think otherwise?
Seems like possible insurance scam/fraud. Plenty of cameras up and down the street I'm sure that would have caught something. Out of the neighborhood cameras on every business, gas station etc. That truck and trailer would not be silent pulling out of a dead silent neighborhood in the middle of the night either.

That's a big boat to go missing. Pretty unique flame graphics too...

I dont think the 2020’s are mandatory for On Star unlike the recent years.

My 2020 has it but not sure if it will work if you don’t pay for it monthly. They offer satellite internet with WiFi for 5 devices and all kinds of other things but I think it can still be used by the police for an auto theft.

As long as it has power Onstar can connect to it, last three trucks it was buttons on the mirror and they are always lit even without a subscription.

OnStar won't do shit for it if there isnt a current subscription. A buddy had his new Chevy stolen and didnt have current OnStar (who does really?) and they wouldnt do anything to help.

I thought they would for the police?...Went and googled it out of curiosity and it sounds like only in the event of a major crime being committed.

I'd be a lying sob "A white guy wearing a MAGA hat stole my truck and said he was going to drive it into the pro-Palistieners"

They'd find it real quick then.

From what I know in an emergency OnStar will connect or if your vehicle senses that it was in a crash. I would think there’s someway to get OnStar to find it.

Problem is if you're not paying the monthly subscription fee they are less than helpful.

If you don't disable the nanny they can find it. I didn't see it in this article but I am sure if a DA will issue a warrant it would probably be faster.

Can OnStar Locate my Car without Subscription?

Yes, as long as OnStar is activated in your vehicle at the point of your car going missing, then it can locate your car without a subscription.

The subscription is for you to have access to information. Even if you do not subscribe, OnStar services still have all this information and still have all the services running in your vehicle. You just won’t have access to it.

So even if you haven’t subscribed, so long as OnStar is activated, it will keep tracking your car. You just won’t have access to the relevant information you need until you subscribe.

So, can OnStar locate your car without a subscription? Yes, they can. Will they locate your car for you, giving you access to the information without a subscription?

Except in extreme cases where the police themselves request for it during a hot, highway chase, no, they won’t give you access to it.

So if you need to locate your car, you might need to subscribe a year-long before you can have access to it. No wonder people wonder if OnStar has a camera.
