Probably the best lake boat they ever made. Always amazed me that mold never made it in the deal with Nordic. Absolutely great boat.
Agree.

Jerry knows where it is I'm sure. Daniel who used to work there confirmed what they cut up and trashed. He said the 30 wasn't one of them.

I thought I read on here somewhere that Hallett/Nordic finally acquired the mold for the 300? Was that not the case?

I talked to Jerry before Covid about having a bulkhead replaced in my engine bay and some gel work done. Pre Covid he was quite reasonable. Then Covid happened and I had to quit my job and move to a different state for work. I need to call him back and get something going, but I’m just now getting back to a position to where I can do that. California is a long haul from Oklahoma. I like the idea of the guy who built it working on it though. It would be cool to have a new 300 laid up one day.

I’m gonna say it’s crushed. If not who’s sitting on a 30+ year old mold in silence?

Hallett wanted to go more euro and spent a good chunk doing it.

They had the 335 already and 29. No plans for anything else.

Does anyone know why there was an advantage to go to a 290 and Ditch the 300? What was the thought process? I know the 290 is smaller than the 300 side by side. Lower freeboard, I"m not sure what else...

They were trying to go go modern tech with the original 29 bottom and single engine. That bottom didn't work. Then the Peter's bottom. Goal was trying to be more modern with the 255, 29, 335, 285 Gen 2.

That makes sense, but why would you throw away something that is proven before the new/modern tech is proven or a hot ticket seller?

Doesn't add up. They could have sold the mold too instead crushing it. I still find it hard to believe it was destroyed...

Agree 100 percent. Why not keep the 24 also even after making the 255. The 30 is out there. Just such a great all around boat I can't see them going through with cutting it up.

Agree, they should have made a new 240 bottom mold to make the changes to the transom area to except the 255 upper. Then again, it was not my company or my money so maybe there is a reason why they did what they did other then they didn't want 2 boats in the same size family.
