I can't agree more and not cheap by any means but shit is still crazy. Covid prices are coming down finally but there are still the true non boaters that boat with Covid money to gef into the game that still think there stuff is worth 10x realistic prices. Not sure if I am still in left field but a 2004 255 with a 525 with 400 hours which they say is in perfect but a 7 out if 10 at best and they want 85K is crazy 🤪 in my opinion but I am not the guy that to complain I just move on. Just my 2 cents.
Go with a Shockwave Tremor for much less and just as solid.

The one they have in stock ready for power is a much better deal. Than 20 years old for 89k.

Wait!!!! People on RDP take out loans for their toys????
I did a 10 year loan on my new Ultra when I was a kid. Paid it off early. But it was only 4 something a month. A 1/3 the price of a new one these days.

Are you the guy I sent pics to off of FB?? I never heard back. The boat in your RDP pic looks like the one on your FB profile

Mine is a 2004 MCOB and I did say I would sell it for $85k. Anything less, I will keep it. It has 317 hours on the hull and the motor and drive are both fresh with only break in hours. So hardly 400 hours unless you are looking at another one??

Drive has warranty, built with all merc parts and engine was done by Todd's Performance in Havasu with all the good stuff, top and bottom. Not to mention another $5k in an all new Kicker System done by Wired 4 Sound. If you haven't seen the boat how can you say it's a 7 out of 10? That is unless you are looking at another 2004 with a 525 for $85k.

Thanks Joe for chiming in and yes you did send me photos of your boat but not the one I was talking about as you did tell me yours has 317 hours but we also never talked price. Also I asked you last week for some pictures and then reminded you again Monday and you sent me some over late Monday night. I did get a chance to check them out until last night so to say you never heard back sorry for the 12 hour delay some of do have to work to afford our toys. There are 3 - 255's I have looked out the last several months and now knowing you are asking 85K as well I will keep looking.

The only place that I dribbled out the small possibility of selling was on the Hallett Owners Group FB page, price was clearly listed at $85k, so that shouldn't be a surprise, if you read the post.

I also don't understand why you are trying to throw shade on me for the FB message interaction. By last week you mean Saturday at 8:20pm and by "reminding me", you mean Monday after I told you to remind me.....🤣🤣

Looks like I sent them over "late Monday night"......too.....🙄🙄🙄

I don't understand why people will straight up lie about an interaction to try and look good on a forum, forgetting that the person they are trying to discredit has the entire conversation in hand.....🤣🤣

I work too my man, but it only takes 2 seconds to just acknowledge receipt and say thank you.

If you have looked at 3 - 255's that check your boxes, and all are in the $80k's.......there could be a pattern developing there.

Good luck with your search! They are great boats.

You have thrown it out on here multiple times as well.

The pattern is 3 sellers that are out of touch with the current market. 20-24 is done. People don't have the funds to blow like they did.

Chris, I love you, but every Hallett seller is out of touch according to you........🤣🤣

Also, never have dribbled it here on RDP, ever. Maybe have said "everything is for sale at the right price", but never was serious with a number. $85k is my number IF I was to sell and personally I think it is fair.

Hahaha! Beers on me when me meet up!

Most have been out of touch the last few years. I have looked at plenty of 10/10 I know what I have, Open check book maintenance, never beached, etc boats that were nowhere near the pics they sent from when they took delivery of the boat.

I'll add my two cents as a 255 and 210 owner. Hallett pricing is like classic Porsche pricing. Some say the prices are too high yet there always seems to be an enthusiast willing to pay. I'd say a dialed-in 255 could be $80's. Or its worth $65m, and you drop $5m on audio, $5m on the drive, $2m on the trailer and $1.5m on detail.

25' tremor is a bad ass boat. Always been a favorite of mine, when looking at 26-28' V bottoms. I say 26-28 cause most of them include the fiberglass swim step, where the shockwave is a real 25' from nose to transom. Its a huge 25, and has massive amounts of room inside. Tons of freeboard, 24 degree deadrise, etc

Hamilton posted loan prices yesterday. They put 7.5% as the rate for 150k loan.
I figured 10%

$150K + Loan amount requires 20% - 30% down. $150K and below is 10% - 15%.

Difference in rate between the 2 is .5% with the higher rate on the lower loan amounts. "High Performance" boat loans for 2015 or newer are 1 - 1.5% higher than advertised rate. Term is max of 20.

There is a 2022 Cobra for sale at $179K right now. $29,100 down and a 20 year term at 8.5% would be $1,300.87 / month. Basically the average car payment these days........lol

Crazy what the average truck payment is. My River neighbor told me Monday his was 1300. He is older guy that has the cash but took the low interest rate.

My highest truck payment was $800. If I finance a new one. Getting quotes in the $1600-2000 range for 3-5 years.

I could see paying that for a boat. But not for 20 years. You would have to figure on buying 2-3 trucks during that time. And if you bought the boat with all vehicles paid off. At some point having a truck payment and boat ads up on the monthly payment.

Out of curiosity and not trying to offend you in any way. What do you expect to pay for a 10 out of 10 255 Hallett with a merc 525?

One will do the trick. It counters the P factor of the prop.

Going to have to try that on my Nordic, it likes to wonder. The no wake zone at Callville is long, so it gets somewhat annoyong.

Maybe I'm just cranky this morning but there is an ass for every seat and what something is worth is what someone pay for it.

So many threads turn into prices and how much everything is. If people stop buying prices will drop or manufactures will have to find ways to cut costs if their profit margins need to be "X" percent ro keep people buying. When the cost of an item new is higher than balls on a giraffe the used market price will increase.

does it matter which tab?
If clockwise, right tab. If counter clockwise, left tab. Essentially you’re wanting to counter the downward swing of the prop blade which is producing more thrust versus the upward swing.

I'm sure you will, but you might be 80 once that happens....lol

I like the thrill of the hunt and finding a deal too.....
Not looking for a deal, just what I actually want.

I hate the hunt and making these trips to find the boat is poop in person.

I know what I want. I'll pay all the money for it when I find it.
You nailed it on the head and I agree - I have the money and if the right boat comes along it will be in the garage. Not throwing shame in anyone and for some reason Joe feels insulted for some reason when I am not even talking about him. Get over yourself and move on. 🤣
