Wanting to know what you guys have in your engine bay in terms of containment boxes, etc... my engine bay has nothing on either side of the engine and makes it kinda hard to store stuff back there.... thought about screwing down some sort of fiberglass or plastic boxes, but wanted something nice, not just some cheeseball Walmart Tupperware boxes....

Thx,
Frank

Hey Frank! Haven't seen you around in a long time. How are things? Sounds like you have a different boat now? Did you sell your Lavey? Saw it going through the channel a couple weeks ago and thought...wow, haven't seen him around for a long time. The guy driving didn't look like you though. :D

To answer your question, I just used to use some of the plastic tubes that had a snap on lid. Never needed to screw them down as they wouldn't move around much once they were loaded with gear/tools. Never liked the idea of putting more holes in the deck to allow possible water intrusion.

How's it going man?! Things are going great, 2 kids, 8 and 9, Wife, Dog, etc. etc...LOL!! Still boating regularly. Sold both of my Lavey's, the 21' last summer, and the 26' a couple months ago. Wasn't planning on ever selling the 26' though, but you know, everything has its time. Picked up a beautiful 210 recently and took our first trip with it Memorial Weekend to Parker. Great little boat and gets the job done for now. Ya, the guy that bought my 26' doesn't look anything like me! LOL...

Tell me more about these plastic tubes w/ snap lids? I don't get it.

They are just the Rubbermaid tubs that you can buy at like Target or Walmart. They look like these. I would just set them in there and load them up. The lids snaps on and I never had any problem with water getting in them. It was a tight fit so screwing them down wasn't necessary. Just an inexpensive and easy way to store stuff back there.

Glad to hear things are going well. If you ever get up to Havasu and see my boat below stop and say hi. I don't get to Parker at all with my pig. Post a pic or two of your new 210. What does it have for power?

Thanks man. Found a nice tub at Costco today. It fit perfect in the port side of the engine bay. There were 2 holes already there from a cooler mount from the prior owner, so I just used the same holes to screw down the tub. Couldn't fit the lid on the tub because the tub is pushed against the back of the bench seat. Hopefully water will not get in the tub, if it does, I guess I have to move the tub rearward a couple inches for the tub cover to fit.

Anyhow, I hear ya on not going to Parker with your boat. I didn't really like getting down there either w/ my 26', although there are quite a bit of larger boats down there. Hopefully I'll see you one day in Havasu and I'll say hello.

Thx!!
