So about a week ago I was working legs at the gym 3/4 through I got an instant painful headache. So I asked a trainer and he said they are called exertion headaches so no biggie. So I don't tell my wife who is a nurse. So yesterday I go back to the gym and start stretching the. Started some pull ups right at 20 instant headache. So now I'm kinda worried , and tell my wife. Went to ER and had a CT done , first one came back showing aneurism . Now I'm really worried. Dr did a second one with die and says its calcium on the brain. I still have to follow up with DRs , but I'm not sure about havasu DRs if it comes to something that could be rare

On the first scan with "aneurism" are they wanting to operate ASAP?

Have you thought of going to Vegas ?

Well the first one showed abnormal and when the did the second one they shot some dye to see the blood vessels, and he just said it was calcium build up . This is what I don't like is that I've been going to the gym for yrs and 3 to 4 days a week and work out pretty hard , and now all of a sudden it just happens , that's what worry's me. If they were going to operate they were going to fly me to Vegas last night

Forget Vegas! If you are worried and want to a second opinion to know for sure what it is you need to go to Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.

Contrast or Die is only used to enhance the CT image nothing else. Your radiologist read your images and gave you two completely different diagnosis. If it were me I'd get a second opinion, aneurysms are nothing brush off. While they can be nothing at all they also can cause brain damage or death.

Btw...Havasu Regional is a good community type hospital. It is part of Lifepoint Hospitals, one of the nations largest healthcare providers. Where it lacks is when things get serious and you need to see a specialist. That's when it's time to take yourself somewhere else, i.e. Phoenix or Vegas.

An MRI isn't necessarily better than CT. It uses different technology to image the brain. Your doctor will use both scanners to provide a clearer diagnostic picture.

Good news is MRI a has no radiation, bad news is the scan takes 30-60min and is noisy as hell.
