Its not a Skater and neither are the other Nordic molds that were rumored for years to be Skaters. I spoke with Peter at Skater personally about this years ago when all the "Its really a Skater" banter was floating around and he assured me its not a Skater and was never a Skater and will never be a Skater.

It is, however a really nice looking boat and I am sure well built - we will see how it runs. What power is in it, what drives, gear ratio etc? - any idea how much it weighs fully rigged?.

In the Lake Havasu boat show thread it was mentioned by the crew a nordic that they had struck a deal with peter to use their 40ft bottom mold for this

Updates, how did it go????

Boat ran bitchen and handled GREAT! We didn't run the hell out of it as the owner had his driving class that afternoon and it was paramount we didn't break anything! lol.

We ran it up to 148-150 a couple times

I guess you should've read between the lines when he said that...No it's no skater. was the original splashed? Absolutely. Was a deal struck to use the bottom? Absolutely. I was in the Powerboat Magazine Office when this was being discussed with Peter. Even Nordic admits it's a Skater bottom. They just don't want to discuss when they agreed with Peter to use it.

I'm not trying to poo poo it. I just think it's funny how people argue this or that it's some secret.

Anyway, is this the second or third they built? Very nice looking regardless. I'd like to see the interior and some different angles.

We were in the Islander yesterday when that boat launched and we were noticing how low profile it looked on the water.

I don't care who tooled the bottom it's a bitchin rig. I shot it last week and was impressed with it. Top notch build all around.

I believe this is the third 43 that Nordic built and rigged from start to finish.
I owned the first Multi-Color 43 painted by Dean Loucks/Art of Design with 1075's and then sold it a few years ago.
Next was the White/Orange Stripe with 1350's and now this new all Orange with 1350's.
There was a Blue/White one kicking around that pops up for sale but I've never seen that boat on the water.

Awesome boat, and like Tom said it doesn't really matter where it started life in the design. All of the cats started off of someone else's design/idea somewhere. Nordic did a great job it.

Love the boat, it turned out really nice and the owner is a super cool down to earth guy. If you see him say hello.

Saw it at Lanier last year. Its a big boat, took me a while to figure out what it was, it doesn't say Nordic anywhere on it.

Saw one of these several years ago in the channel at Pirates. As it was pulling up, I was pointing it out to my friends say it must be a Skater, but was surprised to see it said Nordic. I could not believe how wide that puppy was and it was beautiful. Got back home that week and Googled Nordic trying to find the model and could not find anything to my dismay??? This explains it. Beautiful boat!!!:thumbup:

I saw it parked at Pirates on Saturday, looked awesome and it had some nice looking DCB's next to it as well.

Also saw it later in the day headed back to the lake. Couldn't really see it move as it was pretty busy heading down towards the gorge. Who ever was driving sure was trying to dodge traffic.

Not true.Peter was paid for the first one after the fact.In fact he told me today he was going to call,Randy Davis to see when the check,is coming for the other 3.:eek
