As a very young kid in the 80’s i was lucky enough to get taken to a half dozen of their shows and at the time i had no idea what i was witnessing, most of which i unfortunately don’t remember. The two that i do remember were 7-8-90 and 6-30-95 both at three rivers stadium, the latter a little over a month before his passing. Incredible group with even more incredible music.

For any fans that don’t know…..check out “all the years live” on youtube. Some of the live performances captured on video are unreal

Some of my favorites…….

Was actually driving to traffic court listening to a killer set of songs on the radio when the dj came on all somber saying Jerry had died,,, I had just mail ordered tickets for the LA shows and was going to take my mom.

Not a big fan but this is hanging in my house. My dad bought it at an auction years ago.

… I still don’t remember where I was when the news came through… But I do remember that I didn’t call my good friend Jorhn Panzarella,… the location manager on many of the movies for TV that I worked on… I think I was somewhat in shock???..: that wasn’t supposed to happen… But when you fiddle around with heroin, it apparently can eventually take a toll on your body…
…Mr Panzarella and I went to three Dead shows… two outdoor in orange county… can’t remember the name of that venue???… It is a biggie…and one indoor in Long Beach… all Brent Midland years…At Long Beach we were 10 or 15 feet away from Brent and his keyboards… I consider myself lucky that I was able to see a live Dead show…Real magic… I tried to reword the verbiage on a live Dead show… but that’s all I’ve got???…

Never was really into them but like several songs. I have the utmost respect for their talent and showmanship!

Ended up dating a smoking hot chick ten years older than me in 94. She was traveling around following the Dead on daddies American Express when we met. Hotel to hotel. Not camping out of a bus.
I was far from a Dead Head but she talked me into going to the last Dead show in Denver.
That crazy chick got me so fucked up pre partying in the parking lot we sold our tickets for more lsd and hippy Crack and hid out the rest of the night in her car tripping out.
Good and bad memories...

Maybe the outdoor show was at Irvine Meadows around 1986. I remember getting a flat tire in my company truck on a Monday morning on the 405 and got off the freeway to look for a phone. Came across a bunch of people in vans and tie dye. shirts walking around. I never knew about the deadheads until that morning. 🤷😳😛
