1) Show up early.
2) Go to registration and let them know you're wanting to ski grassroots. They'll hook you up with someone
3) Be prepared to get hoooked! :thumbsup

Here is a link to the entry form for the circle races. There is a phone number and email at the bottom. I would get in touch with them and confirm the best route to get involved.

Looks like I've got some calls to make tomorrow.

And thank you to Denny, Kyle, and Justin.

Woohoo more fresh meat!!!

Like everyone has said, just show up with an open mind. Get there a bit early, and hook up with Denny. Chat with who ends up as your observer about what you've done as a skier, and what you want to do this weekend. There are lots of people that will help with gear.

Fair warning, you will be an addict like the rest of us next week.

I plan on taking first place in the grassroots Circle race. I have a super fast skier. Look for boat #18 up front!

First, and most importantly, I want to say thank you to everyone who helped me out this weekend, Jody, Brady, Jeff, BJ, Justin, Kyle, Jim, Rick, Bill, Denny, and Lori. Ski races may be one of the few events left where anyone and everyone you talk to is willing to help you work towards your goal.

I had a lot of fun this weekend, but mainly I learned a bunch about ski racing. Before the next time I go ski racing, I?m definitely going to put in a lot of practice with the equipment I?m racing with. As a person who hates coming out of their comfort zone I was thrown off with everything changed from how I normally ski.

Humility goes a long way as a first timer and you have to remember to laugh at yourself (I was laughin up a storm all weekend:rotflmao:). Justin and BJ are right though, now I?m hooked. Being challenged at something you love to do is always fun.

So, down to business, who?s got a race ski laying around they want to sell:D

You reminded me a lot of my first Grassroots weekend. I showed up Friday and skied on a big ski for the first time. Jumped in head first and a few missed starts later I was hooked in the worst (best;) ) way.

Glad you had fun. It's easy to get frustrated but the challenge is half the fun.

I have a DC ski I picked up earlier in the year I'll be willing to sell. It needs bindings. All the old holes are filled - it just needs a coat of paint and bindings. $400 OBO.
