I recently made an offer on this 2003 Nordic Rage and was hoping to seal the deal this Friday. After doing a lot of reading and getting suggestions on the RDP forum, I really liked the Rage design, and one of the major selling points was that the construction is all composite and wood-free. Since my current boat has a lot of rot (east coast humidity) it was a big selling point.
What I didn't appreciate though was that Nordic had switched over to wood-free around 2008. Does anyone on here know:
What I didn't appreciate though was that Nordic had switched over to wood-free around 2008. Does anyone on here know:
- Most importantly, where and how was wood used structurally - was it just the transom and stringers, or is the entire hull cored?
- Was it also used in decking, bulkheads, etc?
- I've read over on OSO that there had been some cases of transom problems... has anyone here had any issues?
