About a month ago my back went south (again) so the other day I went to the spine doc to see about another epidural. Problem...........this is the first time both of my legs were bad, last time it was only the left. A few times in the past couple of weeks the right leg collapsed with major pain. On top of this my hands have been going numb. Seeing as though I can't do a MRI the doc ordered two CT scans, regular CT on the neck and a myelogram on the lumbar spine. The myelogram is a CT with a contrast injected into the spinal column. The radiologist wanted 10 ml of dye injected, when he got to 3 ml the shit hit the fan............the space was too small and the nerves going to the right leg had a BUNCH of pressure from 2 lbs of shit in a 1 lb bag.....................long story short the pain was so bad I could not walk or stand for 2 hours. Finally I can stand and walk but that scared the crap out of me. TEST results tomorrow

As you guys know, I was in the Navy, but one of my Army buddy’s had major major back problems…

All he had to do was stop doing one thing in life, and all his back problems went away….

He told me, that when he stopped trying to suck his own dick… he healed up pretty quickly..
Just saying, something yall should think about.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA…

Did anyone give you PT or stretches, that you're supposed to be doing every day???

If I don't do mine, my legs will ache BAD.

If I stay on top of my exercise program, I'm pretty much pain free.

I've been in pain so bad, I could hardly breathe.

My wife is looking into having the stem cell injections in her back. We know someone who did it and it virtually took all pain away.

I am.kicking the idea around of an epidural
Has this worked for you in the past?
When i have a bad back day I have shooting pain down my left leg. But, a needle next to my nerve freaks me out

Also, why can't you do an MRI?

I was fortunate to be referred to a specialist in Pittsburgh, PA. Specializes in minimally invasive brain and spine surgery. The process has taken several steps over a period of time but had I not taken the journey it's quite possible I wouldn't be walking let alone still able to boat "in season".

I think I had 5 of them....left leg. The epidural was nothing, no pain just a slight feeling of the injection. MRI and PTSD/ claustrophobia don't mix well

Every quarter I have MRI's. Cancer. Chest, abdomen and pelvis with and without contrast. 2.5 hours n the tube. I'm claustrophobic. The only way I get through it is with Lorazepam.
I keep asking my docs if we can split the session into 2 sessions. One week MRI with contrast, the next week without contrast. 75 minutes is a lot better than 150 min in one shot. They keep skirting the issue.

damn that's a long time in the tube. Last time I tried a MRI it was 10mg of valium and I only lasted about 3 minutes

The imaging facility I use has an MRI machine with a larger opening. It's much easier to deal with the confinement willies.

I sympathize with @Gramps and the others that have physical issues. Every day is a struggle, and it ain't getting better.

This is kinda crazy…

I have back pain and the extended run fuel tank for the sex machine ( AKA - beer Belly ! )

I tried an Inversion table for 10-15 minutes
and
I felt great lasted about 2 -2.5 days ! Normally really stiff getting out of bed / have to move around, warm up before I put my shoes on.

Now I own 2 tables ! Only $125 each Amazon. Yes they are still in the box and some assembly required…
LoL

Hope you all get some relief !
Really Sucks not feeling well

@Gramps
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!

I get that type of response from doctors regularly, and it pisses me off. Just because I’m old doesn’t mean I have to give up!

I herniated a disc at C6 in my neck a few weeks ago. Pain down my right shoulder, numb thumb, no sleep. Yesterday, I had a steroid injected into the C6 area. Went in the front side of my neck with the needle. Hoping the pain and symptoms go away in the coming days. Back and neck pain is a real pain.
