As noted above the windfall act, it’s a Congress way of screaming people that really stuck their neck out for many years. Police officers and firefighters would be at the top of that

So I pay thousands of dollars of Social Security every year and have for other jobs that I work, and of course, for many years self-employment
It all goes down the toilet I should be getting over $2000 a month. I think I might get 600 tops.

I’m blessed to be in a financial position where it’s not gonna change my life somebody others that work so much of their life and many cases worked 50 years and are getting pennies every month just because they happen to work for a government agency, and receive a pension, no matter how large or how small.
We were playing around with it earlier:

C-2 ,correct. I just hate the screw job, it is so unfair to many. So all know, in may government jobs you pay 7-19% of base wage into a pension plan, nothing is free. the city, etc., invests it for decades. So decades later you get paid back, if you live long enough with all the injuries, and exposures, cancer, etc. then this WEP BS.

Then you have teachers unions.
My SIL (CO teacher) needs to work 35 years to get 85% of her average salary over her last 5 years for life. If she works 25, she gets 75%. But she decided to remarry, and at year 20 she quit working and now teaches overseas. When I asked what the impact was and she researched it, she found out get gets ZERO, unless she get rehired and finishes it out

In the trade that I retired from in June you had to have 15 years in to be vested for a pension. I had 41 years in.$$$$$

did you forget, or did you "forget"??
Oh I forgot, My response was "Is today Monday?"
Fortunately I was non committal initially so Uber was a steadfast option "B"------in my opinion anyway!
To make things worse we had to put down her dog the following day so she said now I have a place to sleep!!

Well 7 months later and 6 months from my request for an appeal of unemployment I had my over the phone interview on April 16 and recieved the decision via email this morning that the judge ruled in my favor for benefits retroactive to October 6.
Should be getting some beer $$ soon. 😁
