Finally making some progress.......not much happened for about three weeks until we got into the rotation so to speak of the builders work crews. They are digging three new pools a week.

It's been awhile since updates. We are getting close, travertine and stacked stone around the spa will be done tomorrow, gas lines for the fire pits are in and the city signed off, plaster crew is scheduled for a week from Saturday and then filling her up

What plaster is that, blue Quartz?

I believe they called it "Sand w/o the red Quartz". When we saw it with Brian, out on the Island, we both said it looked as if we were pulling into a clear cove on the lake looking at the bottom when beaching the boat.

Looks AWESOME!!! What are you doing with the spillway out of the spa?

There will be a ceramic pot that fills and then pours into the pool. Two more of the pots will be in the back of the patio sitting on stacked stone pilasters with gas flames

Super cool[emoji106] [emoji106]
I thought about fire cauldrons around mine but they'd have been exposed to the windiest part of my yard.

Your pool helped me with our design. Thanks

My wife came up with that shape with a couple of garden hoses screwed together one evening. I don't know your age or if you plan on staying where your pool is being built but make sure you do it for you and not resale. We're a little older, late50's early 60's and put another small seat on the opposite side of the one in your pool just for safety's sake, kind of a two person deal, doesn't take up any room at all.
She also designed the steps going into and out of the pool with ours and our friends age in mind. They are real close to being only 5" rise steps which is very nice now and will be a lifesaver when we get a little older. The gunite guy's were more than happy to do them any way she wanted and most everyone that see's them or uses them now thinks they're great. We found that many pools just had to high of steps.
Good luck with the build and enjoy your pool!!!

I guess that sounded kinda degrading and my apologies for that but mostly our thoughts were that color plaster appears more like a lake bottom and less like a pool. Wife was looking for more a carribean blue/green look. After seeing pictures of the color we really thought it'd be right for us too and were excited to go see it.

What color plaster did you choose Walt?

Blue Quartz, makes the water pretty tropical looking, should help with the temps as well, we have a pretty cold pool with the sun orientation and the depth. We use the solar system almost all summer to keep the temps where we want it at 88 - 90.

Guys are here doing the acid wash and pop up / lights install and then we will be filling.

Looks pretty much like ours without water, hard to tell any difference. I think our color is called Pacific, can't remember for sure. Been inflicted with CRS. :D:D:

Who makes that product? The Blue Quartz?
I did Riviera Coast which is a wet edge product
