We’re about to leave the boat and go explore Ensenada. Probably grab a bus and go to the bufadora. Kids haven’t been there and we’ll grab some food over there as well.

Catalina is a special place. My oldest daughter moved to Avalon a little over a year ago and absolutely loves it. My brother and his family live on the island as well.
I’m amazed when people from Southern California say they've never been there, seems like such a shame .
My niece has lived there 30 plus years probably.
Kids born and raised there before they left. Works/ worked for the city of Avalon
Love going over there. It is the quickest getaway where you feel like a getaway

We like to stay at the Pavilion when go

Looks like my wife has booked us at the St. Lauren for the end of the month. I’ll let you know my thoughts. Looks cool from a quick internet flyby.

Don’t drink the water! Or the bottled beer unless you see them open the bottle.
Both my wife and I got horribly sick from Ensenada, same cruise…

I have always wondered how you get all your household items over there. On a private barge?

Wow, what a great day. I forgot how much fun Ensenada was. We hopped on a bus and went on a tour of the city. First stop was tacos. This place was amazing. Tacos were anywhere from $1.50 to $3 depending on size and type.

We got asada, adobado, chorizo, and cabeza. Tortillas were hand made and everything was delicious.

Next stop was tequila tasting. They gave us a tour of how tequila was made which was pretty cool. Then we went to the tasting. I had 8 shots in 30 minutes. So did my wife and kids (18 and 20). We also had five margarita samplers as well.

There were about 25 other people as well. We were all buzzing pretty good. Some way more than others. Tequila was really good. Picked up a bottle.

It’s a great place to visit. I’m there at least 2 -3 times a month all year round for work. I’m glad to see it bounce back. Avalon is trendy, but two harbors is where the real scenery is. Hikes, diving etc.

Have fun!
Truth. I only hit Avalon for a round of golf.

She moved to island full time? Boy you won't hear that every day.... I've been enjoying island and its history for 30 years.... always takes me back to Key West and I agree I also noticed most SoCal types don't value the experience.... they all fly right past it to Hawaii ha

Rumor on the island is that house still belongs to Wrigley family heirs. If still there get to Two Harbors before returning. 12 miles up island .... at least by boats gps. walk up hill to Banning House Lodge..... you wont need to return to Avalon after seeing Two Harbors.
I cruised their once on my 28 Bayliner with some friends in the HH Yacht Club. We all stayed on cans on the backside.

So freaking amazing. Taking my dinghy into shore. Walking to the bar. I thought I was in Hawaii or something. Was just mindblowing.

Woke up at 6am and the boat was already docked in San Pedro. We got off the boat around 7:30 and we were back home at 8:30 and I'm in the office now. These small little trips are so easy and fun. A great quick getaway.
