Just sent to me from my Daughter. Cool shot that shows the route to take to get up river and out the river opening.

Same route we have been taking all year. Have the tracks on my plotter. In the past you could hit the reeds more straight on, but now coming from the California side, like the line shows, is the deepest part. Makes it a little more sketchy though because it's a long blind corner.

Just a little info. For whatever reason Bureau of Rec dropped the level of the lake to about 446- 446.5 about 5 days ago, so even this route is a little dicey. It was still down today.

It definitely seemed low this last weekend.

I had polarized glasses and the only line was filled with two PWCs doing donuts and one Bayliner/Sea Ray plowing at about 10 mph. So the Bayliner/Sea Ray got to enjoy me doing about 45 mph just 15 feet off their port side.

The lane of deeper water was super narrow.

Hope it’s up a a bit this weekend. Really don’t want to ding another prop (although Skips is a great place to visit)
Wonder how much the monsoon season impacts the route every year. The sand coming out of Falls wash every year has to be the largest factor..

We used that route each day we went up river last week with no issues. It is sketchy because it’s the only line. Although, an Eliminator cat trimmed it up and hammered the loud pedal right through the shallow area. Is the no wake route a no go now? I thought I saw a few going through there.

I went up on Sun and they were pulling 3 different boats off at the same time.

Last couple times we rolled through we saw people taking this route without issue but you could see it was shallow!

That is one of the first things we do when we get out there(usually once a year with my boat, from MI) we idle around the mouth and plot out a line so that when we head north up the river we don't end up grounded! last two years it has been like your first example.

I tried the no wake zone earlier this year at idle. No chance. My daughter had to walk us out. With the current but against the wind. Haven’t tried it again

I used to trim up and lift my feet ... but now I go through the no-wake zone ... but for sure ... the wake zone is very shallow ... but if my prop hits the bottom ... maybe it won’t be so bad as going fast ... ? Kinda weird they didn’t maintain that no wake zone ...?

IF I go up river..... I wait for a bigger/deeper boat than mine.... I follow them... far enough as to not hit them if they stop/beach.... works every time.

The stars need to align for about 8 agency's and there's a big cost factor, the Chemehuevi's paid last time, and it only lasts about 1 season.

Ran it last Saturday around noon. Total cluster. Dozen plus boats going both ways and the water was a washing machine. Nimrod in front of me comes off plane for no reason and, based on the traffic, I was forced to shut it down as well.

Two Boats were caught on the adjacent sand bar and a couple of tow boats were standing by presumably getting ready to assist.

Really sucks the fun out of it..

Lots of traffic going through that area today the few times I looked out there. Busy for October.

Sign o the times. Every weekend like holiday weekend - no kids sports, no school, satellite work. Everyone heading to the lake!!!
We’ll be there next weekend staying up in needles first 5 days and I was thinking of running from havasu up but now I’m thinking I’ll just tow up and launch at jack smith. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Watched it tonight for about a half hour during the rush hour back to the ramp while out walking my dog, something bad is gonna happen eventually I think. I watched boats come into the turn from the north three wide hauling ass while someone in a toon going 30 or so is trying to go north. Over and over I watched situations where there were far too many boats all fighting for the coveted inside line. The rules of the road and common sense were nowhere to be found.
