I had that stuff infesting some ground I wanted to turn to pasture, and was doing everything but applying nuclear waste to it.
One day, was at the feed store, (think old school, been a feed store forever, will be a feed store forever) and ran into a locally famous old rancher.
Told him what I was fighting.
"hell boy, that one is is easy"
"It is?"
"Yep, just water it to death. Don't seed yet, water the hell out of it, wait to seed next year."
He was right. By the following season it was gone and didn't come back.

My neighbor has had these like crazy for years, I’ve been super lucky until this year. I’ve got them bad through my front yard. Heard to pull all the fresh ones and then spray the yard with gasoline, wait a few days then a weed killer. Guess the gasoline does something to the roots

When I was a kid I stepped off of our sidewalk (barefoot) and got about 20 in each foot. Ouch was an understatement. Those things grow like grass up here. Hard to get rid of them.

Nut grass doesn't have the thorns but is way more invasive.
If you pull it you are spreading it faster as the nuts are in the tubes of the root and they are primed to germinate.
I asked my weed gut how to get rid of it and he said " Just Move "

I was by myself and had a blow out on our dually with our camper on it, the crawl under to get to the spare was a bitch. I started dragging my fat ass under and kept getting poked by these things so I grabbed my wifes blanket from in the camper and laid it out underneath. Not sure what would have been worse, letting those things cover me OR dealing with my wife when she asked me for her blanket later that night

Seem to recall Goat-Heads are a non-native invasive specie, believed to have been brought to the USA by Spaniards horses. Each thorn produces about 5 seeds. It only takes over barren ground & typically cannot compete with ground cover plants & grasses.
