Its big business now. There's even a huge company that runs it for you, Patreon.com. for a % of course.
Go to youtube. Plug in sail boats. literally hundreds of people, buy a boat and a gopro... off they go and they post about their trips...
"Help support our journey" click here, Help us buy a new sail, thank you soo much... click here.
and they do very well. People sitting offices like to click to their dream of running away on a sail boat to Bora Bora and these guys do it !
Of couse, gorgeous girlfriend/wife in a very skimpy bikini getting you to watch helps.....
Internet panhandling is big $$$.

It’s the same fucked up entitlement thinking that has been spreading through our country like a plague. Liberal thinking....you can afford to pay for me and should. Just because. No reason needed.

There are instances where I think it’s appropriate but otherwise go earn it the way we all had to.

IMO there are worthy Go Fund Me pages. They are few and far between. It does seem as if it has turned into the equivalent of street corner begging for millennial's.

Nailed it. Millennial Panhandling. Millennials are so damn lazy they won't even get off the couch to beg for money :D

I would help donate for someone who was doing something cool and that was an experience/challenge. But not to buy something they think will bring them happiness.

I’m more likely to give them an opportunity to earn the cash to buy what they want. This way when they look back at it they have some self respect.

I hate the idiots that try to get away with foolish go fund me requests for anything other than a emergency or serious health issue. People that do go fund me for non emergency IN NEED HELP are either smarter than most to get away with it or PURE idiots that are to lazy to get out and work for what they want like most of us do on a daily basis.....

It only works for the deadbeats if you donate money. Just like watching TV (advertisement in the local liberal news channels) etc. If you support it, the bottom feeders will show up soon. Give them what they want and more will follow.

Don't support them and they will learn to make a living the hard way, like everyone else. There are some GFM accounts that are worth while, I am speaking to the dead weight that is trying to gain an income from the stupid people becuase they are to lazy to work for it. You cant stop stupid, and there is plenty of it in today's society.

Hey Dave,

Please pull my post down! If people do not have enough common sense to figure out what is legit and what is bullshit then maybe the problem is with the people. Gofundme as in any site gets taken advantage of by the scum! The post I put up had 2 ways to donate, one that had absolutely nothing to with "gofundme" the second was with "gofundme". Had no response from either! As always said no good deed goes unpunished! Unfortunately it is not me it the kids! So with that said and just tired of reading all this bullshit, weather it was triggered by post or not, take my post down and take me off your site. Your a good guy but your politics cloud your judgement and common sense! Good luck! No hard feelings! Take care my friend and good things to yourself and your family!

Sincerely,

Gery

I seriously doubt he was talking about your post

You are probably right! None the less very discouraging when your trying to do something good and it falls on def ears and than you see this rant. This post remained on the front page and still is on the front page, longer than my original post which once again after being moved to the top of the page this morning is long gone! my 2cents!

SR321 - Pretty confident this post has zero to do with your csr for kids deal. Completely unrelated.
I believe it was more of a holy shit, this chick popped a tit, starts a go fund me looking for hand outs. If she was offering handies for donations for tit repair, shed have better luck, lol

Catalina ski races is a small audience, csr for kids is an even smaller audience, so your looking for help with very little people who even know what it is, or who you are, and if it’s legit etc...
Not knocking you or the effort in any way. Love anything that truly helps kids.
Maybe a different approach, more information on what it is etc..

You’ve been a member for 10 years, pull up a chair, stay a while. Lol

Yeah I've seen a bunch for pets that get sick and need a $5k surgery...yeah i'm not paying to save your dog you got from the pound.

And a bunch of "my car broke down and I need money"...which is actually how I've gotten a few customers when I give them a better price and let them make payments :)

Some peeps I know started a GoFundMe for their dog that needed surgery. Wouldn't be a big deal if they really needed the $ but this was right about the same time they bought a new Mercedes and were going on extravagant vacations every month. It's pretty lame to ask for $ from others when you don't really need it.

Honestly I hadn't even thought about your post when I put the thread up Gery.. I just ran across like 3 gofundme's in a single morning that absolutely blew my mind. Nothing charitable about the causes or even the reasoning? 1 chick blew a tit up, and wants a free tit job.. The other chick just wanted a new set of tits, and the third one was even more bizarre about a guy starting a go fund me so he could start a small business and be his own boss..

I'm sorry the CSR Kids deal wasn't well received on here. It's not like I can make people donate to one cause or the next. Charitable things are largely driven off of emotion and circumstance. For some reason either that cause or the pitch isn't driving much action. I have seen other threads where I wouldn't donate 2.00 to it and the membership goes all in.. I can't make heads or tails of it.

I am a little surprised that you would equate this thread with your post though.. Kind of a stretch when I was talking about people literally just pan handling for money for reasons that are anything but charitable?

Dave,

I fully understand Dave! I know it was not directed at me or the cause. I suppose I have been a little disheartened from the response and than this post kind of pushed me over the edge! Working 12 - 14 hours a day, 6 days a week makes you a little nutty! You are a great guy and have a great family, this I know! I fully get what your saying. I have started other ways to raise money for the kids outside of your site. I do appreciate letting me utilize your site. As always the best of wishes to you and your family! Maybe as the date gets closer things will happen!

Thanks!

One of my Buddy's Sister posted one day that they had bought a new to them boat - "Gonna Be A Great Summer". The very next day, she posted a Go Fund Me to raise money to go see her son in England. She hadn't seen him in a long time and didn't have the money to go see him. I was like WTF?? :D

I saw the lady in the OP trying to raise money to fix her boob job. I also saw a post on her FB asking if anyone would co-sign for a loan for her. I was both disgusted and sad for her at the same time.

There is a blog where I live that has made it their mission to out the GFM scammers, they obviously have some decent investigative skills. I kinda enjoy the firestorm but in many of these cases the person who started it is of very low intelligence and it starts to resemble bullying which is not something I can enjoy.

It is very entertaining when the person is or thinks they are a straight hustler and don't know when to quit trying to defend themselves. This was a recent one and everyone that knows of her came out and straightened out all of her lies, pure shitstorm. This gal has already lost 2 or 3 kids to the state, sells her food stamps for drugs etc.

We have donated to plenty of them, but only when we know they truly need the money; usually, for funerals.

I refuse to donate to anybody who is injured, or worse, participating in any extreme sport or profession. Ain't gonna happen and I find it insulting when people ask.

Once in a while I know LEO finds time to bust the GF scammers. A few months back I read about San Bdo cops busting some young adults pan handling for funeral donations at busy street intersections, charged them with Grand Theft.

A drag boat buddy of mine in NorCal lives on a couple acres. A few weeks ago, he received a letter supposedly from a hard working, immigrant family. They work hard, but with current home prices, they can't afford to purchase a home. Wait For It!!!

Will you gift us half of your property for free? We will pay all the cost for the split. Then we can built a home on the property to raise our family.

He posted the actual letter. Unbelievable. I told him I bet it is a scam to get half of your property for free, then sell it. The letter seemed to be written by someone of Russian decent.

lol. Blocked:
This category is blocked: Tasteless. Sites in this category may pose a security threat to network resources or private information, and are blocked by your organization.

:) They did say they were getting flagged as racist bullies, kind of ironic since the majority of their material is white welfare cheats, crooked politicians etc.
Their formula is really quite simple, they dig up a persons digital history, public record and put it up for all to see.

A recent one was a very prominent Democratic judge's daughter was busted driving and had drugs on her....Her comment to the officer was "do you know many !@#$% I had to suck to get that?"

Daddy called down to the barrack's and told them to strike that from the official record, big no no.

Just ask for the RDP discount and my sister will get you handled.

I imagine Sheena would give you or Stacy the family deal if you need some new bewbies:D:)

Dr. Strawn is one of the best plastic surgeons in Newport Beach. He is getting very good at fat grafting as well. Just ask for Sheena and mention RDP and she will hook you up with the discount. Don’t be surprised if your consultation is months out they are super busy.
