Have any pics of the 'No Jap Shit' on the back?
HaHa!
We had to take that saying off the back of the Cracker when we bought it because my partners wife was Japanese!😂
Great boat Andrew!
Congratulations!

Boy that is a beautiful boat, it really is. Congrats, Andrew.
Like others have said the pics of your wife and son in the boat are awesome. It won't be long and that little guy will be asking to take a run in it wt his girlfriend, so enjoy these times...they go by in the blink of an eye.

Raced the Tub Of Fools this past Saturday. Unbelievable how well this boat runs!

The night before I raced, I was going through the boat and noticed she does not have a whirlaway on the V-Drive. If you loose an ear on the prop or lock up the motor, a whirlaway disengages the motion of the motor to the propshaft. This saves a driver and the boat from flipping.

Boat felt great, but I was worried that 1st heat about running without a whirlaway. Therefore, I ran the 1 heat and packed up and went to Fox's!

Pulled the boat back home and tore into her last night. Removed the Seat & V-drive.

GBR is taking our Top Alcohol Flatty (WHITE TRASH) to the NJBA race in Bakersfield this weekend for her 1st time out. Luckily, Mr. Shelfo is rolling out from TN and will take the V-Drive back with him to add a whirlaway. I had a 20 Schiada that I was going to build as a GN. I sold the hull and most of the parts and ended up keeping the 10* V-Drive that came with her. That V-Drive is also heading back with Shelfo to be rebuilt so I have a spare!

It didn’t have a whirl away because it had a transmission at one point and reverse wouldn’t work with a whirl away. I’d be very leery of running it without one too.

It probably had one before the motor was turned around.

Tony Is 100% OK. Boat is gone. Motor is damaged. I will put together a post when I have a few minutes
Really sorry to hear this, Andrew. We were all really looking forward to seeing what she could do. Fortunately no injuries. Boat can be rebuilt.

Saw the footage. Wasn't pretty. Driver was OK per OP.

Sad weekend. Kyle Cannon, driver of Cole Train BGF passed after a pass on Sunday.. speculated to be a medical issue.

RIP

So sorry to hear, prayers for Tony’s recovery. RIP to the other driver. Unfortunately I remember many fatalities before the capsules came along. Sounds like a bad weekend.

Well... This is a safety post to CHECK YOUR SHIT!!!!!

Yesterday, I had to lift the boat and pull the rudder to get tested. Upon further review, she appears to have a hairline crack. I can't feel anything, but we'll see what the test comes back with. Also, the steering cable has been in there for a long time. I am going to call Bergeron and order a cable and steering chain. I don't want to chance it.

I mark the location of the quadrant on the shaft with a sharpy to make sure she does back to the right height

New L-Metal brackets and seat plates under each bucket. Will mount fire extinguishers, a passenger grab handle, and the ignition box behind the drivers seat. Once everything is mounted, I'll trim the plates to clean em up. The bracket next to the cavitation lock out handle was for the shifter for the tranny. Like the driver, this boat doesn't need a tranny! I will now put the starter and kill switch in it's place. I picked up these carbon buckets off Dave Rankin. I trimmed 1/2" off each side of the bucket to squeeze in a little easier. Joe Shelfo just rebuilt the main V-drive. I should be getting that back tomorrow for install on Saturday. He is finishing the spare v-drive up in a few weeks as well!

a little tub of fools trivia.. once at the kilos , Dick Seiler launched to make a run and was making rattlesnake tracks up river. almost like scrubbing in nascar tires. he warmed it up and headed thru the upriver timing clock and then backed off and trailered it. they had just replaced the steering cables and somehow had crossed them. left turn went right and right turn she went left. he was going to try and run it but thankfully thought better of the idea. sorted it out and waited their turn for the next attempt.

Telling on myself here... I did this with outboard hydraulic hoses. I did catch it before the boat got wet!

Below is from my FB Post. I'm 1 too many browns in tonight so I can sleep while listening to a Rave at Sofi that is blasting through the westside until later tonight:

Great day at the GBR Race Shop with my son Rayson & Papa Ray working on the GN550 Rayson Craft today. The rebuilt V-Drive with the new whirlaway is in. Bucket Seats are In (passenger seat faces forward or backward for skiing with 4 bolts). The prop seized on the shaft is off. Old shot trailer side guides are off. Next up, install new steering cable once rudder is checked (replaced if cracked), make new trailer guides, cut and install prop shaft with new ceramic prop shaft seal that I ordered from Bergeron, wire switches in new spot in front of drivers seat in lieu of the side of the driver seat, install ignition box & add a Bilge pump. Plenty more to do, but that is a quick glimpse of what's next

Little toasty in the shop this past Saturday, but got the Teague motor pulled outta the Tub of Fools and finished chopping up the rest of our TAF.

After work on Friday, I ran over to my buddy Mobleys shop and bought an Injected Mercury Class 1 Racing Motor from him!

I need get the new steering cable and chain in, hook up the prop/shaft coupler, mount newer drysump tank that holds more oil, and then start getting the motor ready to drop in. Once the motor is in, I will use what I have to plum and wire to try and make the Enduro. I don't know if it's going to happen this year, but I'll try.

Couldn't you have left the Teague motor in to run the enduro? Then swapped later? That Merc motor is bad ass though!

Last week, got the motor set. The next few nights will be making motor plates and mounts to the motor rails.

Friday and Saturday will be wiring, plumbing, & hooking up driveline. I am hoping to get the boat completed this Saturday to take to the river the following weekend to test!

Update: Been Thrashing on dis summa bitch!

-Plumbing is done. My uncle has been re-wiring the whole boat.

-Fuel Linkage hooked up.

-Motor Brackets Done

-Prop Shaft and Driveshaft are in

-New steering cable and chain on

-New Carbon Bucket seats are getting upholstered. I put the Crackerbox seat in the boat to hopefully test this weekend

-Borrowed exhaust is on

-New Gauges installed in dash

-Triple check every single nut and bolt through out the boat

-Items left: Install and wire bilge pump. Somehow make an Air Scoop. Finish Wiring. Pull Belt off oil pump and spin with drill to build oil pressure to check for leaks. Put 5 Gallons of race gas in each tank and turn on fuel pump to check for leaks. Install new Rims, Tires, & Install new Bearings and seals on the trailer.

Hopefully everything goes well the next 3 nights so I can take the boat to Parker this weekend to test and dial in the setup. I will more than likely need new gears that work better with the injected motor.
