Glendora Ridge Road cuts East over to Mt Baldy from Glendora Mountain Road. You access the Glendora Ridge Road from the same road where oil was getting dumped.

In the past, I have seen a fully prepped road race car (no lights, windows, full roll cage ETC) on this road. Always wondered where the guy came from. There was a locked gate there that closed it off from GMR on weekends/holidays last time I was up that way, many years ago.

Yep, many a track bike as well.

Never a "love affair" with GMR, for that very reason.

Rider looks unskilled enough that he overshot the corner and didn't have the wherewithall to focus to the right and avoid that with ample time to make a correction.

Lucky he didn't pass under. :eek.

He sure was .:yikes

I feel bad for the crew sup...minding his own, got a dented buggy, load of inmates to watch, and a medical aid a long way from help. That sucks.

Some of the videos that are still up on youtube of frontside and others was filmed behind locked gates about 7 or 8 years ago. Don't ask lol

Also it's worth pointing out there hasn't been a single fatal accident up there from the driving enthusiasts in like 10 years. It's always the squids, boyracers, tourists, stoners that get into trouble when they're up there at the busiest times of the day. I pity the poor cyclists that train up there nearly getting run off the road.

Yes sir. If it was the same test, hard to complete on a tour bike.

Sorry again for giving you shit. I read it the wrong way.

Not a Problem, but I was kind of ?????:D And it was a Gold STAR, not a Gold WING, lol. referring to how long ago it was.:eek

On a two wheeled motorcycle....It is called counter steer and how it works. If you rode a bike, then you would know.

Turn the bars left to go left, and you will be in a world of hurt.

To turn left push right and vice versa. The guy target fixated, hard to ignore target fixation when you are in panic mode.

Target fixation. Ole boy panicked for sure. I'e been guilty of before though.:D
Riding like a fool, out of his ability and probably trying to catch his buddy who is faster than him.

At least he wasn't at a car show.

He's just riding his bike, he's not being a jack ass about it. It's a sketchy road and shit happens dude, lighten up. Sure he crashed and that sucks but 100% of people who ride motorcycles/bicycles/quads crash in someway or another.

We must have watched 2 different videos then. Shit happens too people that ride like jackasses as seen on the video I watched. He got what he deserved and I'll wager he chooses to ride differently in the future.

What bike did you test on? Your sisters trail 90? :D

I did mine on my first street bike. 87 CBR 600 Hurricane.

A trail 90 would only get you an M2 :)

BTW, my sister was probably 8 when I got my M1.

I ride that rode every weekend and did last Saturday.
It's (IMO) the best road in SoCal. BUT, it is also the most dangerous.
I took a "single bike dump" on that stretch back in 06.
Still love it but you do have to know it like the back of your hand and be smart.

GMR and Azusa Canyon are good times and I hate to see that shit happen but it is what it is if you ride.

GMR is the best. I Buz across it at 110-140 all the time. Nothing like zig zaging thru the canyons with the wind in my face. Im a regular, I do it atleast 2 times a week. Of course I'm 100' above it in an airplane :p

Yes sir.

If you are good and you do it long enough, it will happen, probably more than once.

Wear the best gear and know what to do in a get off.

I was hiking up there today and I think there was a bad crash not far onto the hill. When I parked outside the gate, 2 flatbeds with bikes were heading down. Neither one looked real bad but they were both on their sides. From across the ridge I could see the police blocking the road after the first straight after the hairpins. Some tress blocked my view of where the accident may have been.

Here is where it looked like they were controlling traffic:

glendoraPA.jpg

Last week I was there also but the gate was closed for the 4th weekend. The bottom turn had a brand new guard rail and there was plenty of Subaru plastic laying all around it.

http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2015...of-driving-too-close-to-him-on-mountain-road/

An angry cyclist accused a California Highway Patrol officer of driving dangerously close to him in an exchange of words that was caught on video.

Cyclist Ken Adams says the incident occurred while he was riding on Glendora Mountain Road over the weekend.

?On the second occasion, the officer passed us much more closely. I would estimate probably within, certainly within a foot and a half, probably closer to a foot,? he said.

When Adams saw the officer again, his friend taped their interaction.

?You passed us with like a foot to spare,? Adams is heard saying on the clip. ?You like endangered our lives for no reason.?

The officer is then heard responding: ?The law requires you to be at the right-edge of the roadway.?

?I was on the white line,? Adams replied.

?Listen to me. The law also requires me to maintain the right path for the roadway,? the officer said.

But Adams said the road was empty and the officer could have easily given him more space.

California law requires drivers to be at least 3 feet away from bicyclists. If that?s not possible, drivers must slow down.

The CHP released the following statement that reads in part:

?Safety is our top priority and, particularly with the ?3′ law?, there is still some confusion on how it applies in various circumstances. We?ll keep working to ensure everyone knows their options so that we can all use the road together in a safe manner.?

The officer told Adams he was only driving 25 mph, but Adams says that?s still too dangerous.

Adams says he?s filed a complaint and just wants to ensure the road is safe for everyone.

?A few seconds of impatience can change a cyclist?s life, their family?s life, and your life forever,? Adams said.

This is why I just stick to the dirt trails up there... A lot less conflict, I don't want to have to get on the news and bitch anybody out.

Ken and the CHP... Unmovable idiot and irresistible moron..

Ken's right.. They passed a law that says the car needs to follow Ken for the entire road until Ken finds a safe spot to pull over (Hint: He is still looking)

CHP is right.. Not allowed to pass on the other side of the road, even when there is no center line..lmao

They are both beyond stupid, and trying to prove a point that doesn't need proving.

PS: That cop is as full of shit as a Christmas turkey.. They do not drive 25mph up there. But of course the cops are legally allowed to lie, and the general public is not. How does that work again?

Yeah I think these days you have to drive more carefully than ever before. Earlier there were only drugged or drunk driving cases but these days you never know when someone gets distracted over phone and becomes threat to everyone else. My uncle is a Los Angeles DUI lawyer and keeps telling us never to drunk, drugged, or distracted driving.

I know I'm useless in the diesel department, but I can come down and lend moral support to the effort. [emoji12]

I always had a soft spot for the guys who always boast they never have been down. :)

Always meant to me they never left the garage, or they are slow as fuck. :)

Either one is all good.

There was a guy a worked with a number of years back that was riding a new GSXR when he started. Bout six months after, he totaled it out, and bought himself another one.

Six months after that, he crashed again! And replaced it with a 1200 GSXR. Wanna guess what happened next? The story is the same, he got wadded up on the freeway.

He did a nice hospital stay, and bought himself another bike. Kinda doubt he is still alive.

My V-Rod has just over 20k now. I'm sure my previous bikes had more. Couldn't even tell you how many off road miles I've riden, but I've rode a few bikes until they were toast.

Some people are ok on bikes, and some people are not.

Blah blah blah. :)

Be careful out there.

Again, I have put 50K miles on two streetbikes. I have replaced more sets of tires than I can count. I know my way around a corner. :)

I own a 2S 250R and a healthy stable of Banshees as well.

I've seen Scott Russell wad his shit on the first lap and go on to win the race.

Bikes go down bud. If you are good enough, it will happen.

Glad you are slow as fuck, because crashing sucks and it hurt everytime. :)
