I hope everyone has a great thanksgiving with your loved ones!

Anyone going to be out in Glamis this weekend? We head out Friday at 5am. The rest of the group headed out today. We will most likely be in the wash 22-24 area.

Robert picked up a Honda 110 on Sunday to ride around with the kids in the small dunes. He’s excited. He’s looking at a big wheel kit, but those seem pricey.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy thanksgiving!

This will be our setup if you see us, come say hi.

My dad is going and we figured out his dialysis situation out there! So he’s excited as well!

My old crew has been out there for 2 weeks now. What it takes to get on Gecko.

Have a great time! The 110 is Sweet. Been trying to find a used one for less than new with no luck.

2 weeks? That’s some dedication. After 5 days, I’m ready for a real shower and am too sore!

It was an impulse buy. His buddy had a 110 in our back garage and I thought it looked like fun. Went to mountain for some fluids, and checked it out and Robert said, if there’s an EFI one, I’ll buy one. Well he didn’t know about the Honda…not one sales guy approached us. Hit up Temecula Motorsports where his cousin just brought some quads, and they got us in an out in an hour.

Hope you can get away from work and are taking the weekend off.

Mountain sucks ass. No help there sales guys don’t care. Only reason. We go there is it’s close and if you pay cash on bikes they get weak real quick.

Have fun.
Drive the 8 yesterday and Gordon was getting packed. The amount of desert setups heading west as I drove to family in Arizona was insane

They were good way back in the day when they would sponsor us. Haven’t been there in years. Last time had to be 10 years ago for a bike show I rode my Vespa to.

well…started to air up the tires. Robert noticed one of the leaf springs on the trailer was loose. Couldn’t tighten it. Something about the bushings are worn out. Hoping our flat bed trailer has the same parts to swap out.

When you guys get back, park that sucker and go through each of the components and make sure they're good. It's a helluva lot easier to replace/fix something in your driveway than out in the middle of nowhere.

I'm stockpiling parts for a future project and am over-buying certain things for this exact reason. I want to try and have some spare parts on hand should something similar happen. Hubs, lug nuts, etc. 👍

Good catch!

 Shoplight out the night before a desert trip! Flashbacks to my 20's🤣 Either I'd be finishing getting the buggy pieced back together, doing something on my tow vehicle, or doing the same stuff at a buddy's place so the group would be complete.

Can smell the bonfires, race gas and 2stroke smoke still🥰

That’s exactly the plan. He looked at all the parts online that he thinks will fit. I think he’s going to look at both trailers. He said this was the first time he has ever had that problem.

He tends to do a few laps walking around the RV and trailer each trip, and I think sometimes he’s just going crazy in his head trying to find something wrong, but now I’m glad he does that.

🤣 it’s not a trip until a spotlight comes out.

He’s definitely missing the banshee right now. His favorite smell is castor 927.

I'm just past pad 5

Not even busy out here for a major Holiday weekend in my opinion.

The wind smoothed out the deeper dunes.
Moto'n was like skiing on fresh snow.
And
The 4 wheel stuff, well........ that's a different story.

I'm not sure about the Honda's but the best thing I have done to my KLX110's was to put the

Mitas Pit Cross 12” Soft Compound Sand Tyre 65 Rear Tyre KTM SX YZ TC 90/100/12

tires on. I think I went up 3 teeth in the back sprocket to accommodate the tires too.

Some Friday nights I miss it. The last minute thrash to make sure the group was ready to roll.

Those pictures kinda make me want to go to Glamis again. Haven’t been there since 1987.🤣🤔🙁
It really never disappoints! Love that place, especially this time of the year! Get back down there…but plan on doing that in an off-ish weekend. The big weekends are nothing like they were in 87

Same here. Been about 87 since I've been. Superstition Hill was always CRAZY. Spent a day at Brawley Hospital due to splitting the chin on a 3 wheeler (stitched up & back at it within hours). Saw some hairy shit & bad accidents back then. Decided I liked the river year round & a bit safer for me anyway.
