Some smaller power sports dealers sell them to. There is one near me that is typically not very busy. That is my go to.

Thanks for the takes.
I used to stop off at the last gas station in Brawley to buy them but that's a crap shoot. They may be sold out and parking with that big pig can be challenging if others have the same idea.

Always bought mine in Westmorland or Brawley at just about any gas station or liquor store.

Heading to Ocotillo always stop at Red Earth Casino, gas is usually cheap and a big area. Heard they are carrying the pass but haven't been thru to ask.

Never had an issue with just walking into the ranger station on Gecko. Always friendly and I take the opportunity to ask about any law changes that I need to know about.

I've been out of the desert scene for a long time and never paid attention to this. This is only the start. Fees will go up, be added, etc.

That was the problem with fishing & hunting when I moved to CA from Iowa. I couldn't believe all the fees to do outdoor activities that was/is free elsewhere. Had to by a state licence to fish, then got to the lake, had to pay to park, had to buy another license for the lake, had to buy a permit to put my boat in the water, etc. (I gave my fishing equipment to a buddy & never fished again, just no fun & too many people as well).

But, but it's for the environment so....LOL. Oh well, quit complaining it's only a few bucks (that'll go up). WTF

Completely different worlds, comparing outdoor recreation in the Midwest to the Southwest. Never had to deal with a lottery, or picking units on a map when hunting up there. Grab a rifle and head out to a farm or public land. Fishing? Same deal, find a pond or river somewhere and have at it.

I will say, it’s opposite for camping and off-roading- much easier and much more area down here. Camping on BLM or state land with little supervision, compared to state and county parks and campgrounds with Nazi hosts and quiet hours.

I'm always baffled why someone with $100's of thousands of dollars wrapped up in sand toys that would rather support retailers such as Red Earth vs: the ASA? Have you ever seen any local retailers from the surrounding area arranging clean-up days, veterans ceremonies or representing duners in the constant legal battle help keep Glamis open? 🤔

Rant over. 😎

Looks like ASA only sells anual passes. They do not sell weekly.

Yea, I sold my guns at the same time as well. Hunting is an absolute joke, and dangerous, out here.
