If the stickers are new, figure a day for each side and a day for the front cap and back door working alone at a reasonable pace if it’s warm and the trailer is parked in the sun. This is on a fiberglass trailer, the trailers with metal siding take longer, I’d damn near double it in that case.

After the decals have had a year or more in the sun to bake, prepare for hours and hours of hell. Did I mention hours of hell?

Two guys getting after it can do it in a day.

Then add however long it takes you to wash and wax or add ceramic.
This is spot on. My wife and oldest daughter helped the first day so I was done in 3 with time to spare. Your black and red will come off easy and leave nothing behind. The multi colored black and gray will tear allot and leave tons of goo.

Do not use goof off. It don’t work for shit. Use alcohol and lots of towels. Soon as goo gets in the towel flip it.

Need recommendations for buffing/polishing compound need something fairly mild to remove the ghosting.

Also what do you use for equipment DA or rotary?

I had this issue with mine, my detail guy said to leave it, and it would go away on its own. Which it did. Also said to avoid using compound if possible because the gel is thin and easy to burn through.

I see guys get amazing results on older trailers. So there is enough there for a few buff jobs over a lifetime. Just can’t get aggressive with it.

Have you took your trailer out and used it yet? I have 3 trips so far, and have a list of things that I need to take back to the dealer for...nothing real major, just little things that just aren't right...

Not yet couple more weeks we Ho to Oceanside. Then skip 2 weeks then menifee lakes. Then it goes to the factory repair facility to get the slide’s adjusted. Then October is June lake.

After that a bunch of trips up Stodard wells. Maybe Williams for Xmas

What slide mechanism do you have? What’s the issue?

It’s the schwintek. The bedroom slid is the pic of my hand going in between the gasket the other pics are of the bottom of the living slide not going in all the way and the gaskets not installed correctly

I pointed all of this out when we made the deal and was supposed to get fixed when I picked it up but they gave me lines of bullshit.
Wasnt going to argue with them over it.

Rodrigo called me today and set up a time to stop it off in between trips.
Has other minor issues but they can be put off until we have some down time and don’t need it.

Yes I reset and synchronize them to no avail

That is one of my issues as well, I don't think the slide is going in all the way, amongst a few other things....I called the Genesis factory repair place and they told me I had to go through my dealer for warranty work...

schwintek can be finnicky at times and was told the same from Gneisses that you should synch them often. You are also supposed to lube the track as well and shouldn't start stop to often when operating the slide...

Yours slide looks to be out of place like you said.. More than likely it will need to come out and reinstalled.

I tried my dealer they said they would need it for more than a month. That would make me have to cancel Atleast 1 trip maybe 2.

Did you talk to Rodrigo?

I’m thinking they will both have to come out.

Funny how the dealer said it was fine and when I told them was not they changed the subject.
Genesis reputation and Rodrigo and Emerson’s contributions on Facebook groups is why I still picked it up as I knew it would get handled one way or the other.

I am not sure who I talked to when I called Genesis...but he said that I would have to take it to the dealer and from there it would be determined if it had to go to the factory repair facility...

One of the reasons I bought a Genesis because they have been promoting their new factory repair facility, so I thought it would be easy....I called the dealer yesterday because my trailer was still hooked up to my truck and was hoping I can take it right in...but they said their only service tech was on vacation until next week and that I would have to wait until he came back...

Forgot to ask you, the Oceanside and Menifee trips, are those through Thousand Trails? We got that one year free membership when we bought our trailer...was going to book at Menifee just as a trail run, but drove through there and wasnt impressed....have you been there?

Is it better to have a long bed or standard bed for pulling fifth wheel
Seems like long beds sag more without bags

Long bed vs short bed has very little to do with sag than any.
Long beds will tow better due to longer wheelbase that is better equipped to fight side to side forces.

My hitch is adjusted all the way to the rear. I did this for bed clearance and cab clearance.
I could move it all the way forward and it would put more weight on the front. Also tongue weight varies greatly between not only each floor plan but what and where people loaded items.

My trailer pictured above was completely empty with an advertised pin weight of 3200lbs. With Toyhaulers when you load them the tongue weight will decrease in most cases.

Well I kinda knew the problem about the brakes would pop up as it’s very common.

But these spring hangers…

Try your best to not jackknife the trailer, especially when backing into a site. If you have to, make sure you pull forward a couple of feet to release the cross tension on the axles.

Extended pin boxes on all the new fifth wheels make them easy to maneuver, but it's hell on the spring hangers and frame when you turn super tight. I've seen spring hangers ripped off the frame, but also cracking of the I-beam frame where the hangers are welded on as well.

You have the extended pin, the old style didn't cantilever out they went straight down. Have you checked alignment on the axles? If they are too far out then you will be wearing out tires pretty fast.

Hmm you must be talking about the old old style. Because mine is no different than anything else out there.

But that’s beside the point. The hangers shouldn’t be the weak point of the trailer.

Amazes me the lack of customer service at businesses now. Every single customer new or old I take care of the same. They’re what keep me going. I walked into Roger Dunn Friday before we left in the RV with the full intent to buy a brand new set of clubs prob ranging 3-4k idk what’s new and the must haves anymore. My set is 12 years old store had 1 other person and 4 people behind the counter not one person asked if they could help me after spending about 15 mins in the club section waiting I walked out.

I have bought 4 RV’s since 2013. You would think someone would want the repeat business. I don’t even care about issues. As long as they are fixed.

Just picked up my trailer from Genesis. The fixed a handful of small things and addressed the issues with the slides. Gregg even gave me a storage door for above the generator storage mod.

I was wondering why they didn't put some kind of storage there, it seemed like wasted space to me....did you cut it in yourself?
Yes cut it myself will build the shelf when I get time. Genesis gave me the door when I picked it up from some repairs.

WTF how does that even happen?

I had both the lock tumblers pull out of the door lock this last trip...put the key in, turn the lock, turn the key back to pull out and out comes the whole thing...on both locks...one on Friday and one on Saturday...now my trailer is sitting in front of my house with no way to lock the door while I wait for a new one that I ordered from Amazon to show up...also, pretty much every little o-ring seal around the locks and knobs on the exterior compartment doors are all cracked or torn already...caulking in inside around the sinks and shower, all just falling out....I havent even taken this thing to the desert yet, just a few local campgrounds....SMH

I replaced the greased brakes with new Lippert units. Said in the box self adjusting. So I didn’t check. Towed it a few times, braking still sucked. Yesterday one tires locked up under normal braking. So who the fuck knows.

Just going to throw money at it it until I stop having problems.

Self adjusting drums usually do so when you back up and brake. At least that's how they worked on cars when I was in that line of work many moons ago. Locking up while braking sounds like maybe contaminated shoes again.

So I took the trailer out for the first time to the desert....first off, I didnt want to wait for the dealer to fix the entry handle, so I replaced it myself with one of those electronic keypad locks, but the door is such a pain in the ass to close (was like that from the factory, I think thats why the tumblers fell out from slamming it), well the new handle has a plastic handle on the inside, my wife broke that off the first day trying to slam the door shut...we get to the desert, and the medicine cabinet in the bathroom was on the floor and broken to pieces...so yay, have to clean mirror glass shards from the floor....fuel gauge doesnt work, so no idea how much fuel I have all week...pipe under sink came loose, leaked water everywhere...but the worst part, is the generator wouldn't run any heavy load, it worked for maintaining the batteries, which is the only thing that saved us, but anytime we tried to use an appliance of any kind, it would shut down and throw a #14 code, so a whole week out there and we couldnt run the air, heater, microwave, coffee pot, nothing...luckily we had friends there that helped with coffee and heating up food that we couldnt do in the oven...

Now get this, last time I called Genesis, they told me I had to go through the dealer, so today I call the dealer and they tell me that I would have to go straight to Genesis...so I call Genesis, earliest they can get me in is 12/18, they said it would take a couple of days to fix most of it, but that they don't do generator work it has to go through Onan...I call Onan, and they said they have not got caught up after the UAW strike and they are 2 months out....I guess there goes our Christmas and New Year trips...

Did I say somewhere that I miss my old Weekend Warrior???

Wow! I can’t even believe all the issues you had on your first trip. I would take it back to Genesis and get all the other stuff fixed. Borrow a portable generator from a friend and keep your Christmas/ New years trips. Take to Onan next year.

Typical RV. I only have 2 suggestions for people looking at these things.

1- rent it

2- if you don’t listen to advice #1 live in it in your driveway for several weekends before needing to actually use it. Not plugged in, not hooked to water, etc. Use it like you would when camping. MUCH easier to fix shit in the driveway!

As for the generator not powering. Did the dealer not run it during your walk through?
