Gen 6 454 roller lifter

Will a stock gen 6 roller lifter withstand 400lbs of open valve spring pressure and 5800-6000 rpm? Cam is a comp 01-451-8.

i have a stage 4 600sci which has the 525 cam.eddie young did the head work and spring upgrade and i wanted to put new lifters and he said to put the gm lifters in.i put a new set in and he said he has run them 6500 plus no ploblems

The GM lifters are pretty durable, but I don't normally run 400 lbs open on something that would only be running in the 5500 rpm range. I have not had an issue with the Sealed Power replacement lifters I have bought for some of the more "stock" type engines either.

@obnoxious001 comps recommendation for the springs was about 350 open and I added a bit of pressure for the turbos.

Also what about the stock rockers?

400 lbs on the nose is a hefty amount. Generally I begin to see cracking of the lifter body in the four thin walled area next to the wheel. If you are going to be running pressures like that I would recommend Isky roller lifters with the axle bushing instead of the needle bearings.

Comp, Crane gold, or Scorpion rockers are a great addition. Stick with the 1.8 ratio.

After doing some math it looks like these springs will be more like 340lbs of pressure at .550 lift. They are 400 at 1.2 and have an installed height of 1.9. seat pressure at 1.9 is 110.
