There is a significant range of gasoline taxes per state. Surprisingly CA is not the highest at about $.54/gal. Average price of regular in CA is about $5.25/gal. The state with the highest gasoline tax is Pennsylvania at about $.58/gal. Yet the average price of regular in PN is only about $4.01/gal. WTF??!! Believe Hawaii has the highest cost of regular gasoline at about $5.30. But, this also includes a nearly $.52/gal tax.

So, we’re told these gasoline taxes go to road construction, maintenance and administration. How’s all that going to work when/if we switch to EV? Increase the tax of diesel? Diesel is already heavily taxed. What would an increase in those taxes do to the cost of goods and inflation? Perhaps too many of our political leaders were Art History and Gender Studies majors?? Just sayin’

In Washington they add $150 to yearly license tab. Money goes in the general fund. Roads only see a portion.

We’re drinking the Kool Aid? Gas at just under $4 in LHC is NOT GOOD! Ziggy, I know you didn’t say it was. But this very gradual decrease in gas isn’t really anything! But, it does fit the narrative for some for the 2022 elections.

I'm thinking the government will tax your electric bill in order to pay for road tax. I don't know for sure, but I guarantee they will get the money somehow.

The infrastructure is falling apart because it mostly goes there, trust me.

EVs will end up being far more expensive to own than ICE. LOL have you seen the new requirements for the tax credit, it’s fucked up.

From what I understand the gas in CA needs to be specially refined for CA, and only CA refineries are producing CA gas. This is why you see the prices in CA spike when you hear about a refinery fire or a refinery going down for maintenance.

Then you hear about price gouging and investigations, but nothing ever comes from it because people are too stupid to connect the dots to the green policies they voted for and the high gas prices because the media makes it all about the evil oil companies and price gouging. That you can drive across an imaginary line in the desert and get gas for almost $1 per gallon cheaper should tell you that it's not the evil oil companies...

i have been saying this since the beginning. They are going to tax the crap out of electricity once they realize they lost the gas tax revenue with all the electric cars.

Easy. It will be become a mileage tax, more you drive more you pay.
This^^^^.

Mayor Pete already floated it out there. Everyone celebrated when it got shot down. They knew it wouldn’t go the first time.. It’ll be a thing sooner than later.

They'll just tax you at the charger like they do now at the pump, instead of tax per gallon it will be per KW.

They aren’t going to do it now, they will kill off more ICE cars first. The heavily debt laden blue states all got a debt reset with Bidens Covid bill so they can go awhile.

Yup...and should be easy to track with all those fancy lil IPADs in those Teslas that some of these fags love. That or we will some how have to plug in for reg with the computer shit in cars. Shit, they should do that now for all these EV peeps that aren't chipping in on the gas taxes. Since it goes to the roads and all. 🙄

According to Google California has the highest fuel tax at 68 cents per gallon Pennsylvania's 2nd, I think that includes federal tax as well

They could make the DMV take yearly mileage reporters or your insurance company. Can you imagine if you get in accident and you have more miles than you report. Can you imagine what CA will tax you then? 🤔
