Has anyone bought any lately? I want to get 4 more 5 gallon gas cans and damn near fainted when I saw what the prices are now. ~$35 each with a spout. Any decent cans for a better price online?

I paid 24 dollars each seventeen years ago, without spout.

Only place that may have them a little cheaper is Summit or Jegs but them you have to pay shipping. It may be a wash or slightly more at that point.

a "guy I know" used to have a buddy of his smuggle the good skepter cans in from Canada....I think (he) paid something around $90 each for them...and that was 10 years ago. They're still the best gas can I own (he owns)

the ones I really liked were "nalgene" brand. We used them for nitro for our top fuel car, they last forever. Last time I looked they were ~$100 each

Funny thing.
Jus' my 2 cents worth:
I found if you go into Amazon and search for gas cans you'll only find the most expensive.
But if you Google and find them they are cheaper and have an Amazon link also to avoid shipping cost in addition.
Screwy but true.

Since I damaged my back I can only lift 2.5 gallon and I use the no donkey dick "Honda Style." Also available in 5 gal.

These are great around the property but if you travel the change in pressure causes them to split.
They need the green button oiled from time to time too or they lock up.

You can attach a donkey dick to them if needed:

Not what I use but these seem decent? https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...MI_KPU5J6-9gIVCT6tBh2pSgg_EAQYASABEgKQhfD_BwE

I like and use these because of the extra handle when pouring.

how the hell do you remember that lol
I bought 4 of each color for specific reasons.
blue = av gas
red = red dye diesel
clear = gasoline
black = jet A

I know when I bought the ranch, the plane and the tractor plus most of the price stickers remained on the containers for years. ever so often I'd glance at the price and this would get me wound up for another bitch session on how much I paid for these damn things! ...I shoulda bought more so I could give one to Gramps. 😁

just in case you're wondering, yes I still have them all and only one vent cap has broken loose and that's because I let someone help me fill the boat. I won't mention the members name.

I love that extra handle.
In Parker the 76 Gas station sells them $30 with donkey dick. That was last year, who knows what the cost is this year.
But that extra handle is a BFD IMHO.

The sad part is it’s going to cost you the same to fill them up these days, lol

I bought these:

Along with this:

This way I don't even have to lift the can up. It has an auto shutoff feature so the gas doesn't overfill. I think I paid $49. for the transfer unit. uses a few 3A batteries and it works great.

The VP cans have the big openings so the device just sits on top and pumps pretty quick.

surprised....by the time you get the donkey dicks and figure shipping cost and time to get them delivered amazon was the best deal, I think. I have used the ones with the second handle, they are OK but they are taller I think.

I bought 2 five gallon cans a couple weeks ago. I looked at 5 locations (Walmart, Autozone, Home Depot, Lowes, and O'Reilly.). I wasnt price shopping, but looking for a specific shape and style to match my existing cans.

All the cans were $24-$28. Finally found what I was looking for at O'Reilly.

Check out that pump I posted. I have the same one you use and it works great but the hose isnt long enough. I ended up buying a rechargeable pump from Tera with a 10' hose. I liked that its rechargeable rather than always having to worry about batteries if it dies. You can also adjust the length of the pump to use in a bigger container if needed.

Sheesh. $60 is nothing. I just picked up 2 of these for long term generator gas. I need no hassles when I cycle the gas and replace so fuck those plastic leaky ass cans.

Not sure what your plan is- I am sick of carting multiple 5 gallon gas cans. I just bought 2 of these not long ago and they seem to work great.

Thats a pretty good choice. The only thing that would stop me is that 20G container would be heavy to move if full. I like the design of it for sure as it is pretty low profile. The long tube on the transfer pump would def come in handy at times. I always have plenty of batteries for replacement.

I use mine for my generator for the 5th wheel and the Harley when traveling. I can pump out of my 60G tank of the gen but hate to get gas at the gas station with the 5th attached to fill the gen tanks.

Super easy to walk in and get a “utility Jug” at any motorcycle shop. The one I posted above is actually cheaper at chaparral than online.

So far so good. I bought 2 cans and stack them in my enclosed. The pump with the extended hose is perfect. I was just sick of dealing with 5gal cans. They are PIA and time consuming to fill. You have to tie them down, some of the caps leak or the vent holes leak and slosh gas. After a few years the can cracks or the the fill spigot breaks. These 20 gallon drums are good so far and cheaper than buying 4 new 5 gal cans, they dont leak and easy to fill and tie down.

Why would you purchase one of those "donkey sticks" and not a fast flow spout? Maybe the donkey stick is fast flow?

We have the metal NATO jerry cans and I paid about $80 a piece for them pre-covid. Probably $150 now, if you can even get them.

Bought a 100gal Volvo saddle tank from a truck scrap yard for $85 a few years ago.
Best way to go for bulk storage. I use these for transfer,

Or just lift it out of the truck bed full with your pallet forks.
