Im just finishing up my garage build in Havasu and my turning radius to put my boats into the garage is tight. I'm thinking of getting a utility cart to move the boats in and out and also a way to haul coolers and other things back and forth.

Has anybody used a utility cart to perform these duties or is there something better I'm not thinking about?

Tongue weight for a boat may be a concern to deal with. Other than that, a stock E-golf cart or janitorial cart can push or pull a car or truck on gravel with ease.

I got a Ford think for free and put a hitch on the front of it for moving trailers around the back yard. It does it but the brakes are marginal. It will push my boat but stopping it would be an issue.

forklift ?

put a hitch on one of the forks and yore all good...

they have a very good turn radius and yore looking straight at what yore pulling around...
I was going to go the forklift route, but I would like the convenience of using the cart to move coolers and things to load the boat.

Those things are far from foolproof

Be sure to hook up electric brakes on the trailer.

build a fork extension, put a pallet on forks and do both simultaneously much faster, safer and easier. PLus the f. lift has so many other practical uses it's a no brainer.

That is built by Taylor Dunn. They’ve been built for 75 years in Anaheim California. I believe Polaris bought them out a few years ago you have to purchase them through dealers and most of the dealers are kind of flaky and self construction equipment, too, and forklifts and really don’t wanna deal a lot with these.

The newer, nicer ones are called Bigfoot. We bought a brand new one about a year ago or a decent discount from a company in Colorado for a business. Their capacity is insane.
It comes with a Pindle hitch on back. The bed on the back will hold about 1600 pounds and it’ll tow something like 5000 pounds electric the better ones are 48 V.

They come a different configurations, this one looks to be a little short on the bed and make all kinds of models and I found if you want something in really good shape someone’s gonna charge about 10 11,000 used but the place in Denver will sell one for about 15,000 new year old model Which is like 7000 below window sticker .

Incredible units no one makes really anything like it mainly used for industrial units but if you remember when you were a kid, the janitors in school use these because they essentially last forever
They make them with a cabinet without a cab we got ours without a cab upfront that’s what we got a discount from Denver because they mainly use cabs and heaters there due to the weather. Ours has the bed and back that has a full down seat so you can pull it up and it’ll hold three people in the second seat and the bed is a little shorter. I think the bed is about 5 feet long maybe.

I can’t say enough about the quality and utility of these.

One of the great things w/a f..lift is you can raise the bow high enough to just ride on the rear axle for short turn radius or tight locations. Also handy for draining bilge or removing eng. Should that need arise. No floor jack req. To remove wheels for services etc.

Been using a Taylor Dunn for my boat for a few years now. Makes it so much easier to get into tight spaces due to the turning radius the cart has. I wired a switch too for the solenoid to allow backing it up since my trailer has surge brakes. No issues with the weight of my dock crusher. Only issue I have is it’s an old one and eats batteries from little use. Cart was used previously for my race car, different top on it then. Use it for moving yard waste bins now too.

Those are some bad ass aluminum wheels I’ve never seen those. Thinking of custom painting ours. I figure out what those wheels are about. Let me know.

A tug needs to heavy if you’re trying to move or turn a triple axle trailer , otherwise the tug will just be pushed straight.

I have a hitch on my golf cart and a front hitch on my Excursion. However, my boats weigh less than 5,000 so not sure about a heavy boat with the golf cart.
