Hey guys, I just ordered this 34K BTU heater from home cheapo but was hoping you all would have some advice and where it should be mounted? I sketched it in near the top center and as you can see the work bay of the garage is on the left side so if anything that's the side I want the most heat in.

For the last several years I've been mentally masturbating over a 70K BTU propane heater from Modine. With the cost of that unit and installation it would probably be closer to 2K plus I have to run the exhaust vent out a wall or through the roof. This thing is less than $200, maybe 400ish with wiring. Even though it will make my meter look like a Vegas slot machine the payback for the propane heater would be several years at the very part time rate I would use it. I have 2X6 walls with R19 insulation and will eventually get the attic blown in to at least R30. If I can get the garage up to say 50 degrees on a real cold Pennsylvania day that would be great. Thanks!

I've got one like that in my garage, which is just a large 2 car, it'll get the temp up to mid-50's in about an hour. It sure is nice to bring the iced up cars inside in the winter and crank up the garage heater to get all the gunk to fall off.

I'd still like a gas infrared heater to dry everything out as well.l, but that isn't going to happen anytime soon... LOL

If that were my shop I might consider getting 2 and mount in opposite corners of the shop along the back wall.

50° F that 🤣 I was whining this morning because my garage was only 66° when I got up. Hell it’s only 70° now. I guess I’m just not built for the cold.🥶

Hang it on a track, and then pull it to whichever spot you need it.

Thats not that large of a heater. I'd suggest putting it in the work bay to keep you comfortable. Angle it downward to get more heat directly onto you as well.

I put mine in the corner of the garage near the overhead door, and also put in a ceiling fan in the center of the garage to circulate the air. Hot air rises so you wanna push it down, for that size garage I would put 2 ceiling fans in, and possibly think about another heater if one doesn't do it. I hate working in the cold, and my garage warms up pretty quick.

id mount it on some sort of articulating mount that you could point it wherever you are working. i like the idea @81Sprint had of adding a ceiling fan as well. push the hot air down. and the added bonus of having a ceiling fan in warmer months.
