Juan's Garage Door Service has been good for us. He's been at it for a while. Believe I originally saw him recommended here, on RDP.

Just another no show no call

Why is this so common in Havasu?

It's not just Havasu. It has been more and more common everywhere.

Want to say shavers installed mine…? But haven’t had any issues, so don’t know their track record. But I have a 10’ and a 14’ that work excellent….

We had good luck with Shavers during the Covid times . They showed up when they said and did a good job . We have another door that we need to do and will probably use them again in a few months.

If you need another recommendation, I have used Just Garage Doors and they showed up as scheduled and were reasonably priced. They did a spring replacement and then recommended a seal replacement. They ordered the seal and again returned on the day promised and were very reasonable. I would use them again.

Actually I’m dealing with him right now on a job he did for me in August. He replaced both roll up door springs. 1 just broke yesterday . He said that he would be there that afternoon to fix it. Nothing. Then he said he would be there today 8:30 am. Nothing. Then he said that he would be there at 2:00. Nothing. Right now he said that he can’t find a spring. And just now he said that he’s out of town!! If I posted this conversation we have been having, no one would believe it! Now I’m looking for someone else. He’s a real solid guy!

Just called them. Secretary said that Jerry is “going through some stuff “ and probably couldn’t do it!

Anyone else!
Where can one buy the springs in Havasu ? I’ve done them before looks like I might have to again.

Springs and winding bars can be had on Ebay. In Cal. they won't sell them to the public, only contractors, so Ebay it is.

Lots of information on YouTube on doing it, I've done it a few times with zero issues. Just take your time.

Measure the old spring diameter and length, count the number of coils (easiest to do on the good spring when NOT under tension)

If the spring is the correct 1 for the door size, weight etc..... You put 1 full round of tension per winding of cable on the drum at the end of the torsion shaft. If the cable wraps the drum 8 times the you put 8 full turns on the spring....Start there and adjust for balance if/as necessary from there. The bottom edge of the door should float at 36" from the ground when balanced and should reverse automatically on the motor when it contacts a 2x4 laying flat on the ground (1-1/2 tall) when the operators safety device (erd) is properly set/adjusted.
Please...only use the correct tension rods to load/adjust the springs safely. Anything that doesn't fit the tension collar correctly is asking to get hurt. Trust me, you'll only do it once.

Did my own on my last house in fullerton i read up alot and watched video.I do have mechanical skills so attemtped it and it went well. The winding the springs i did it slow to be safe and careful.Did the float the door for balance and all had to make a final adjustment and loosen tension just slightly though. think it took 7 turns.Luckily in az my neighbor is a garage guy so i can get extra help if needed.

The Tech that is there right now (Forrest) from Parker said that the springs that were put on in August by Juan's were not the right ones. 1 was a a little to strong and the other one was way to strong and that's why it broke. The opener couldn't close the door because it was so strong! Also when the spring snapped it tore the motor mounts out of the ceiling. Going after him to get my money back!

Thanks Parker Garage Doors.

Normally I never slam a company or person on social media. I just let it go and move on. But this time I had to say something. I'm pissed!

Be sure to keep all the old parts as evidence as well as get all the oem specs, model/serial #'s etc for your door plus Forrests written statement etc. If that is your true intention. Best to get as much documentation to go the full distance if necessary now while your in the midst of the situation. Good luck. Sux it came to this for you- all.
If the other co. Is smart they will make it right straight away and move on as a result and chose to learn from it and be better for it.
Happy hollidays....

I've used Parker Garage Doors for my RV garage in PHX. 3 doors and openers in total, with the biggest one being 18' wide and 14' tall with a wall mount jackshaft opener. They were just out to service the door earlier in the week and did a great job as usual. They show up when they say they will, their work is good, they communicate well, and their pricing is fair.

Anyone use a roll up to secure rv side from 2 car side, it’s about 11’ opening. Thinking of doing that, and need to find someone in town

Yes
Parker doors did it for me. My floors are not level so there Is a little gap that you can see in the pic. I just secure a board on the other side when it's closed up.

Yep...quite disruptive.
Quite almost fatal. 😀
The bastard couldn’t snap while at work or at a store? No. Just entered the garage and I thought a car hit the house or a I got grenaded. 😀

Not quite as scary as the old flip up doors before the safety inserts were a thing. When they popped, they flew across the garage.

Parker and sons was actually early today.
Already fixed both doors
Suggested all new rollers but the homeowner only comes out a couple weeks a year
He said they can usually come out same day unless they are super busy
