Trying to get things ready for the snowbirds and the garage door is not closing properly. Downloaded the manual and tried adjusting the downward force to no avail. Pulled the cord to disengaged from motor and checked for binding - nothing seem to bind. Sensors are lit properly - no obstructions. Only way I am able to close the door is to hold down the button.

Located off of N Palo Verde. Anyone out there have any ideas - trying to avoid a service call while I am out of town. Renters arrive tomorrow and I am here scrambling to hopefully fix this.. This shit always goes down at the wrong time. :champagne:

Happy New Years everyone!

Make sure the opener track, screw, dealeo is clean. If it is gummy, the motor will sense the restriction and can assume the door is closed.

Based on what you've already looked at what crazzyhippy said would be the first place I would look too. That's why I switched to a belt drive actually. Quieter and less resistance. Not a bad $170.

Are the sensors mounted on the wall or did they go lazy and cheap and clip them to the track? If on the track sometimes the vibration will make them come out of line just for a split second long enough to send the door back up. Also being on the track has them too exposed so that sunlight can interfere as well. If this is the case then get some wood and make some mounts on the wall and move them, line them up properly and you won't have vibration or sunlight problems.

There should also be limit adjustments, not just downward/upward force.

I just went through this. My down limit keeps moving, so every couple of months I have to adjust it. Mine is a Sears and the limit screws were on the opposite side of the downward force screws.

And the Netscreen %GT is humming along nicely, thanks again.

If you can't figure it out. Call Jerry 928 855-6331 or 928 486-5160. His company came and fixed my door on Mon. Wasn't that expensive either. He scheduled it with my snowbird.

Thanks for all the replies. So I wiped the track down with WD40 - nothing gummed up or anything. Re aligned the sensors one last time to make sure I was not crazy. Then I opened up the back and found some more adjustments for down force etc etc. Before I did this I removed the the door from the motor and decided to just test it without the weight of the door. No go -- it was doing the same thing. So I thought was the hell and decided to see if it would relearn the remote. Once I did this it started working again. Both from the wall control and remote. I did add my wifes car remote to the system earlier this week but did not make the connection or think it would jack up the other remotes. Oh well all is good on Inverness -- ready for the snow birds. Thanks again for the tips. :champagne::champagne:
