So I am at Parker for a week vacation with my family. I had my 21 Daytona with us after being down for over a year. Got it all dialed in monday afternoon and stuck it on the trailer at my house under the car port. I decided to put it in the water wednesday morning for some more fun and it won't run. After 2 hours of changing ignition boxes, doing a compression check and other various inspections I discover in complete disbelief that somebody loosend the distributor and turned it 90 degrees then retightend it. Not sure if this was meant to be a joke or if somebody was trying to sabotage it. My 24 volt starter took a serious beating along with a nice fuel wash on a new set of rings. None the less is this the kind of shit I should have to deal with when I want to get away from the daily bullshit for a week? I suspect it happend monday night. So tell me is this funny?

I cant see a friend doing this to be funny. I would think most of your friends know Better. That's an oil change, if enough gas washed down into your bottom end. No friend would do that. Maybe one of the V drive guys messing around but I would think they would be there next to you laughing then give you a hints :D

OR you just put it in wrong in a hurry to get to the river. Don't you run a mag?

That's as bad as a crushed rotor at the races, overnight...... While I agree it sounds kinda fishy, I can relate to asswipes doing something like that in the name of "funny"..... We still haven't figured out what the acidic white shit was that someone sprayed over the PS89 boat at Ming, again, overnight...

Not funny at all Ben.

Now, do you know th exact where abouts of both Rankdaddy and/or Guru on Monday nite? Was Bob Teague in town?

I'd say that you are now a candidate for one of the nite vision video camera dealios.

Probably just a warning from the Parker cops to put some mufflers in that thing. :loser: :D

On a serious note, did you have any of your drunk friends over the night before?...

I've been staying a few doors down from you for close to 10 years now Maxi and I've never had anything like that happen. Theres some good neighbors on that stretch. One of my buddies did have a couple dirt bikes stolen out of his garage there but they were recovered from some tweakers in town I believe.

It would have to be someone that knew you really well. Well enough to laugh it off over a beer, which you may be up for if you are asking the question? Maybe....no it's just BS, no one would do that and let you sit and spin on the starter all day on the water. That is messed up.

My dad had everything emptied out of his shed with all the skies, life jackets, etc. at the river one weekend. It was our friends next door paying my dad back for some other joke. Now that was funny, but messin with your boat and a 21' Daytona no less. I'm a little partial on that point! :thumbsup

Yeah, that usually goes over real well. Also, a bearing shell, or a rod nut. I once found a greasy nickel in the bottom of a flat, the kind used to space the shaft back...The look on his face was priceless, "How did it come out?"....BUT, no real damage, and this little stunt could have destroyed shit...

This happend after the boat came off the water monday night. It would be pretty hard to run 7100 rpm with the distributor 90 degrees out. I had no friends in the area and my friends would not do something like that. Anitsieze, removing trailer tires, pulling the whole motor out of the boat maybe but not jacking with the distibutor. It bums me out. After 20+ years of going to parker & not worring about equipment or personal belongings getting messed with this happens. I am not a mean spirited person & all the internet bantering is just that INTERNET. This shit crossed over into the real world and for me that crosses the line. Not to mention I got the shit shocked out of me from my 7-AL box when my daughter wouldn't lift off the starter button!

Greg (75 Spectra) any ideas on who this could be? I saw you were still there on monday. Maybe you might have some thoughts?

At this point I am over being pissed off. It would be nice if somebody could tell me it was a joke gone bad so I don't have to lock all my shit up from here on out when I am in my favorite spot on earth.

While it is neither funny or appropriate but it's no more dickish than you superimposing RCL over the mesmerizing hot blonde sitting on your air cleaner.

Hey Maxi, do you remember what neighbors were there on your row? You can PM if you want. I know a few of them.

It wasn't any of my neighbors... it was somebody who only wanted to dick with the boat. I had tools, equipment, skis and all kinds of shit laying around that could have been tampered with. It was only the boat. My guess is somebody more in tune with hiperf boating and had an issue with BLOWER SURGE!

I didn't do that... TOM! It was one of RD's people that sabotaged my innocent avatar pic. Haters they are... just cause I had the best ass hat around... I clear coated the cheek marks. Seriously they are still there. The bummer is she must of had a pimple on her ass at the time of the shoot.

Understood, Maxi. I lost control of my avatar years ago so I completely sympathize.

It strikes me a likely the person who did this knows you, was drunk, and thought it was funny at the time. To be fair, far worse things have been done in the name of humor.

... but it's not funny at all. It's dickish and it should never have happened.

... but here's the deal: You have a kick ass boat. You got the problem sorted out, and you still spent some nice time at the river. It could be worse.
