Does anyone have any info on the Funcat minis? How long they were made, how many are out there, if the mold still around? Etc. They look pretty sweet and seem like there’s not much out there on them.

was talking to someone on Facebook with probably one of the cleanest mini’s out there and it was the Funcat so I was just interested in more info on them.

Looks like a cougar cub? Maybe a different name?

I like it too!

It is surprisingly good looking for a mini boat. There are several other brands that are pretty stylish also. Ithink there was a thread about the mini‘s, not too long ago. It had pictures of a bunch of them at Sundance, I believe.

He said it’s a 1985 Funcat 13’ and believes they were only made for about a year. If I’m correct the cougar cubs are only 10 footers also rad boats but I think that extra couple feet would be a day and night difference on ride quality.

The original company called it a fun cat. A friend of mine bought the molds and they are here in Havasu.
It is now called tsunami. Here is a picture of mine it is a fun boat. If you need any information an r serious about getting one I can get you in touch with my that has the molds. The boats were originally made in Florida. And they are 13 feet long with a 5 foot beam. There is only 1 video of the Manufacture. and hes buddies jumping the Waves in the ocean. It's on YouTube I will try to find it and post it up. He was going to use the video as a promotional video but he's attorney told him not to because he would run into a lot of lawsuits from people getting hurt not knowing what they're doing.

Yes! Let me know a good contact I could reach out to, I’d love to know some more on pricing for building a new one.

I’d send to Pedro to make match and call it the F2.6 for my son. 😂

Hi, so I’ve been searching the internet about funcats on and off for many years now and have never been able to find much information out there. Until now! I am very interested in getting in contact with someone who has information about how I may be able to acquire a hull. My father (Fiberglass Frank) worked for Larry (the owner of funboats) in the early 80’s making the original funcats. He ended up working for Larry working on the old race boats in New Jersey and eventually bought the fiberglass shop from Larry in the late 80’s and is still there today.. Fiberglass Plus. i would love to atleast see one in person at the very least. I have been hearing about funcats my whole life and have never actually seen one.
Thanks so much for any information you could get me.
Fiberglass Frank Jr.
