That is my best friend's boat. At least it was until he traded it back to DCB and they are building him another 29. This one will have the same power but will be the wide body layout instead of the canopies. It will be his 8th DCB.

We picked it up at Desert Storm last spring and it was a hoot cruising Havasu for a couple of days. Amazing boat. The trim tabs were manufactured here and Dave installed them. They give a flat start and give you the ability to eliminate any hop no matter the load or speed.

We rode in the M31 while we were in Havasu and I knew he was going to go that way. Just took a few months for the deal to come together. We only put it in the water twice all summer and then only about two hours total. Somebody is going to get one hell of a boat.

What a cool boat. I don't know what it cost to build but 285 for a used F29? Holy shit. The next guy is gonna eat half that in depreciation in the first couple years.

So the new M28.5/29, whatever it is, will be wider then the current canopy version? I thought they would share the same bottom and just have different decks?

How did the boat handle in Havasu with all that power? It's really a cool setup, wish I had the
coin...

Did they have to mess with the skeg much to reduce any torque steer?

With the cost of the engine and drive, you wonder if it would be more cost effective to pull the drivetrain and install in the new boat. Then you could sell this 29 with no power or purchase a Teague 800 and bravo.

I think I said that wrong. As far as I know the M29 will be identical to the F29 from the rub rail down.

Well, considering it only has 12 hours on it... I'm going to bet the NEW purchase price was somewhere near the current selling price of $285 k. I bet half of those 12 hours were from Dave and team tuning the boat and the other half are from the org. owner. I hope to some day have fuck-you money like that so I can blast around the lake like I just don't give a fuck. For now, 60mph will have to do!
