So.....I make a deal with a guy to buy his boat in the classified section, a Howard 22' offshore, he accepts my offer, can't shake hands over the phone but pretty much the same thing having a verbal agreement says we have a deal to most folks. We agree I'm to pick the boat up in Needles on Sunday morning at the storage place which has the signed title. I sent him a text with the picture of the cashiers check made out to him with the agreed amount. By the way, he said he was fine with a cashiers check, so he calls me yesterday and tells me someone offered him more for the boat and if I don't want it he will sell it to him.....whatever...I tell him I want the boat and he tells me ok, he made a deal with me and will honor the deal. He even posted the boat was sold yesterday in the ad. So this morning about 6:30 he sends me a text saying he is gonna sell the boat to the other guy and hopes there are no hard feelings! Yeah right! I don't know about everyone else but I think thats pretty fucked up, not how I do business but there's tons of flakes out there with no morals, ethics or second thought about their reputation and I obviously found one so putting it out there that Robert Slagle fucked me for whatever its worth. Unbelievable!!!

Shitty. I had a tractor for sale and a guy on the way with cash. Another guy called and said whatever he’s paying I’ll give you $500.00 more. I said no but if the guy doesn’t show up you’re next in line. The guy showed up and I took the agreed upon price. That’s how business should be done.

Not cool in my World either. Would have to say that if it’s off the classifieds on here, that’s pretty rare. I’ve sold and given away lots of thing on here and going back to the Hotboat days.... 98% of the people I’ve meet off our local boat boards have been great people.
There’s a one for sure I’d like to meet in a dark ally.

However as I am in the business of sales I cannot begin to tell you how many times I passed up on a good second offer because I was already in contract with someone else, only to have that person back out at the last minute.

Had the exact same thing happen to me from an inmate on here years ago. Went through the hassle of getting a loan, paperwork, credit checks, and all the other bs that goes along with purchasing. The day we were going to drive out to finalize the deal he didn't have the audacity to answer his phone, just a text saying that he decided to keep it. I feel your frustration total bummer slap to the face. I look at it like things happen for a reason. Maybe a better boat will come along or something was wrong with it that was unseen. Move along like we did, purchased a nicer boat for much cheaper.
