It will be well over 400 plus traffic school. You may have to go before a judge cuz you were more than 20 over the limit

Speeding while pulling a trailer at 88 MPH is the exact same thing as murdering small children. No punishment would be too harsh for this ghastly crime you have committed against humanity. At a minimum, you should be covered in paper cuts and then pissed on by 1000 angry horses.:D

Are you sure they're gonna let him go to traffic school? I once got a ticket for doing 30mph over the speed limit and the judge said no to traffic school. Had that ticket on my record for a while.

Many years ago before I smartened up I got a speeding ticket while towing. I was doing 90 and it was definitely an expensive lesson that I learned.

Just checked my traffic school paperwork and no school for more than 25 over the limit. SO NO.

at 33 over, be greatful they didn't write you up for wreckless driving as well. Still might happen if the judge is in a bad mood.

I hate to be cold but this doesn't strike me that big of a travesty of justice.

I'm sorry you got the ticket, though.

You guys are lucky to keep your vehicles ;) . May be not for long , since Arnie is a frequent visitor to our province :hmm. Since Sep 20 new laws came in effect :skull Your vehicle gets impounded for 3 days , points on the DL + towing charges , getting caught 40 kms over posted limits. Get a DUI for over .05 , car imponded , licence revoked for 60-90 days and have to pay getting a new driver licence. This province is becoming a police state :bash:. Cops are gloating in their new power given to them by our poloticos and ICBC [ focking insurance corporation of BC ] . The cops are judge , jury in prosecutors now collecting revenue for the province. They are not even required to produce radar readings either . The cops are trained to guess your speed accurately ,the public is told :bash::thumbsdown.
I've never seen so many cops on the roads that they 're now infesting.
They imponded close to 300 cars since the new law . There was one legit one that made the news , catching a Ferrari and a BMW going 260 kms racing up to Seymour mountain ,a popular drive for speedfreaks.:rotflmao:

If you think thats bad, try getting pull over in California now without a DL. They can now impound your car for 30 at the owners expense wheter or not if they knew the driver was unlisenced. Beleive me it's true. In June I let my son who was visiting from Arizona borrow my car (he didnt tell me his lisence was suspended) down in Long Beach. Long story short with the Towing + Impound fees it cost me $1800 to get my car back after 30 days.

This ticket shouldn't necessarily be that expensive. I got a ticket for 95+ in a 65. Cop only wrote me down for violating the posted speed limit. No reckless endangerment etc. Total ticket w/ traffic school was just under $200.

You should be able to look up what CVC codes you violated and then go online to get the fee schedule for that code.

Maybe towing is different, and he may have written you up for multiple violations, but you might just get lucky...

Then I'm fighting it

I heard that if you go to court and fight it, CHP is not likely to show up so you win by default. I was told that they don't show because California can't afford the overtime for the officers. not sure if that is true or not, but for $500+ in fines, it sounds like a worthwhile cause to fight.

I've had this happen years ago but haven't heard of it happening lately.

I'm surprised a photochop hasn't been posted of the boat passing the truck and trailer being chased by a cop car.
