I used to think that way until I quit CANCER STICKS cold turkey and haven't looked back since.

12 years was too long for me. Plus the smell is just nasty to me now.

seriously, make the choice and just stop NOW.... It is only your brain holding you back from making the decision, and best make it sooner than later. Without your health, you really have NOTHING......

I had valley fever pre-teen. It's not uncommon in Az to get it. I hope you get over it, and everything works out for you.

I can't ride and breathe dust anymore, I end up with allergies and sick for weeks at a time after riding. I started wearing those paper masks and don't get sick anymore. I don't care if they look stupid, fuck that silty Arizona dust.........

Good luck with that Steve. I also made a lot of bad decisions in my youth that I'm sure will one day cause me health problems. I put down the smokes 13 years ago when I was 40. I would encourage anyone that is still smoking to give it up as soon as you can.

When you are in your 20's and 30's, you think you will live forever. Then before you know it, you're in your mid 50's and you start to realize your time is running out. I don't dwell on it, but I do my best to get every drop out of life, each and every day.

Best of luck to you.

Get well soon, 2FF. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I have asthma so I know what its like to have difficulty breathing. My pulmonologist actually thought I had valley fever in the beginning and I went through tons of testing before he determined I had severe asthma.

Holy shit, I had never heard of Valley Fever. Apparently its from fungal spores breathed in from a short period of time (acute) to chronic exposure over many years. Damn.

Get well Steve.

Got all my fingers crossed that its nothing more than a small speed bump....You and Sue have way to much living left to do.

BTW....

One of the thing that really pisses me off is when people say smoking/abusing there body with drugs or alcohol is there "choice". I have been a type 1 diabetic for 21 years and there is no doubt I will have serious health complications later in life. Not everyone has the "choice" to be healthy and taking your health for granted becuse it suits you irks the crap out of me.:swear:blah:

RD, if your gonna move to AZ, you better do some homework on Valley Fever.

Its a spore or sumphin that lives in the dirt, and when you kick up the dust, and inhale it, it will fuck you up big time.

I'm sure the AZ peeps here know way more than me. I know they thought my friend had it, and she actually had pneumonia (sp?).

Oh and, you should prolly brush up on scorpions and rattle snakes too while your at it. :p

Steve, I know a lot of people out here especially former military guys that have Valley Fever. Nellis is one of the first places that basically discovered it out here. They found it rampid in our state a few decades ago..you are going to have to lay off of (or back down a bit) from all that desert riding and activity til it clears up a bit. It can really wipe out your energy. Keep taking your vitamins and get your rest buddy...

Like PaPa said, lay low for a long while, your lungs need alot of clean air. Conserve your energy your gonna need it. Once your feeling a lil better and have some time do some research on better facilities for your issue, I trust Vegas MD's and their hospitals less than the same in T.J. UCLA, Pomona Valley or Loma Linda are just a few to get 2nd opinions from.

Keep you in my thoughts!!
