That's all I got to say.

Especially a 🖕 to the IRS for not reinstating the R&D tax credit (sec 174) for immediate 100% expenses.

I'll hold out paying till the 13th.

That's all I've been hearing for the past week and will continue to hear through October 16th 😆

I did get a new client that was referred to me and they were ready to send in $200K for their 2022 taxes but wanted a second opinion. I looked over their books and documents and re-did their tax returns because the other accountant missed so much. They are now sending in $97K instead of $200K. It did cost them $10K to save $103K but they are obviously super happy about it.

Anyone would be happy with that, good job!

Don't get me wrong, our tax lability was reduced substantially and some owed is prepayment for 23'. Just waited till the last minute to see if the IRS was going to change back sec 174 rules.... I'm hear they will, but after the payment deadline.

I would love to be in a position to pay $200K in taxes. I should’ve been an Instagram influencer.

LOL. I agree. What's fucked up is how many other people go to this same guy to get their taxes done and and just pay what he tells them to pay. They go to him because his fees are not very high and he in turn doesn't give a shit about the client and the end result is the client is fucked!! Happens all the time.

Only a few things in life, where the cheapest is not the best.
Tax Guy, Attorney, Surgeon - I always pick based on other factors vs what they charge

Sounds like you will be picking up other clients based on word of mouth from your new client

I know for a fact if you did that for me, I’d personally be funding one of your Vegas trip threads. Nice job 👏🏻

It just hurts. Now I know what the term is , "I am just working to pay taxes" means. Blew past 200K in taxes paid in 2022.

Since the title of this thread will likely garnish some unwanted attention I would just like to add I'm a very satisfied business owner that's more than happy to pay my fair share in taxes and do my American patriotic Duty.

With my new job it looks like I'm going to jump 2 tax brackets. I am NOT looking forward to that at all.

And this is why people buy houses they can barely afford, to get the tax write offs!

At least it used to be anyway. So many write offs have gone the way of the Dodo.

🙁

F the Public Sector bureaucratic leeches. Raise your prices, it's the only way.

The good news is we are getting closer to a breaking point where the serfs will start burning their institutions to the ground, as surviving becomes more and more difficult.

Just think what employers pay....
Yup no wonder everything is expensive. Shit went to Jack in the box last night $11 for a burger comb. Eff that burger only please. Family of 5 would be nearly $70 for dinner.

Can’t wait until all these little bitches voting for minimum wage increase are replaced by robots.

Try the value menu next time. 2 tacos and 2 jumbo jacks for about $6. Lol

That’s what it’s coming down too. 1/4 mill income and you have to shop off the value meal.
Ha ha. I make half of that in retirement and have no problem eating out 4 nights a week. But I dont have 3 kids to feed either. Lol

IRS I can deal with....FTB - Franchise Tax Board/California are nazi's. I paid my taxes and they sent another bill for about a grand which got misplaced. They shut down all my bank accounts and withdrew all my funds for a little over a grand. I paid it, but I am sure they will send me another bill for another grand in a few months. It's over and over and over. I'm about to change my residency to Texas or Florida.

Anyone else notice all the Texas license plates everywhere?

It’s a progressive tax. You’re still making the same money on what you previously made. Just less of the higher amount.

Congratulations on making more money.
