Big Bend pro tip:

Never order a large pizza. They don't cook right.

Get two medium pizza's instead.

Their pizza's are Really good! 👍🏼

We only get them in Havasu. Order at Windsor online when I’m pulling out the boat, it’s ready when I get there. 0 prep and we can have dinner when we are ready.

Gotta use the online 25% off coupon. Their salads are really good. We like the Mediterranean.

It’s like $20 for a Family size pizza and a salad.

Tuesdays.. any large pizza is $12.. I'm a fan of papa murphys!!

Okay, now that you brought up "the incident" you need to share your experience. Does this have a similar plotline like Dave's China Buffet adventure?
Let’s just say I was on hold long enough to drive down the hill and walk in there and tell them to pick up the guy on hold.🤨
Then, they asked me what kind of pizza I wanted😂
Told em I was walking across the parking lot to get a cooked chicken from Albertsons.😎

Looks expensive if you have to leave your wallet out.

:D
They doubled the prices. Now talking about shutting down our bar. Ours has a liquor license. But prices are higher than Hermosa Beach waterfront bars these days. $8 for a draft beer. And they are closed more often than not. Now that the snowchickens have arrived they will probably lower the price for them.

I know we’re talking frozen. But it’s almost as easy and better. to load up (as mentioned) a boboli. Or grab a fresh dough from Traders or your local pizza place. Most will sell fresh dough.
My latest little trick is throwing some fine freshly grated parmigiana cheese on the bottom of the crust with a small amount of alive oil. Toppings are a personal taste.

The 2 or 3 of you that mentioned Costco really make me scratch my head. Costco pizza has the worst crust. It is limp and tastes like white bread. The sauce has zero seasoning in it, and the cheese is so greasy it leaves a small puddle on whatever you set the slice on. Just about any frozen pizza has to be better with just some added cheese.

They are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Open the rest the time.

They have an NFL Special on Monday and Thursday nights. I think it's twenty bucks for a pitcher of beer and a one topping medium pizza.

But yeah. You're right. Mostly closed. Stay over there on your side of the rock.

😜

I was referring to Echo bar. Same owners, managers and Mo is in charge of both. He sure makes big bend the better option over Echo. Like he gave up on Echo. They ran out of food memorial day weekend and big bend had plenty. Got mad at the bartender for trying to make money and not closing at 10. Poor bartender 2 weekends ago was crying she has no customers.

Friend rented a water front 1 2 weeks ago. If you buy it they will rent it for you. Same concept as Roadrunner.

I noticed all those new camp sites as you pull in. They are trying to fill the park. Then they will give up on it like they did us once full occupancy.

The new camp sites you are talking about...

Are for sale. Then, as an owner, you can rent them out.

WTF is that all about?? I sure can't figure it out.

Got to split the rent with the park like the mobiles. But they handle the rental. Owner of the parks Daughter is doing the same at Roadrunner. You buy they rent it.

Obviously we are not allowed to rent our places which makes no sense. Should be the same deal. Give them a cut of the rental. That way you don't use it often just rent it to cover the monthly.

Speaking of pizza, earlier tonight my grandson called. He informed me he was with friends, they were broke and hungry, and could I loan him $20 for pizza?

I'm thinking this is the ultimate example of 2023 Grandpa hustling. He knows I use Venmo.

We had a little family owned place here in Simi called Golden Crust Pizza, absolutely the best pizza period. Big thick crust around the outside that you slice open and spread some butter in, the best. The owner retired and closed up shop in the early 90's. @TPC might remember them.

Frozen pizzas are awesome if you find decent ones. I eat them fairly often for lunch at the shop when I'm busy. I can throw one on the Presto Pizzaz in a few seconds and walk away. The best ones I've found so far are the Newman's Own Stone Fired.

Red Baron brick oven are the best cheap ones.

Btw the Presto Pizzaz is the the shiznit. Thing looks stupid as hell, but it cooks frozen pizzas like a mofo. It also cooks fries and ither stuff super good, it's like an open air fryer.

Never heard of it and I've been here over 40 years, where was it at
About 45 years ago.
It was on the North Side LA Ave west of Erringer.
Snooky’s was in the same parking lot.

Absolutely is.
My go to is pepperoni, sausage, black olives.
9 times out of 10 that’s what I make.
But I had a hankering for Canadian bacon and pineapple yesterday.
I’ll still make them on the Traeger now and then, but the ninja oven on “air roast” at 420 does almost the same thing.
Any raw dough assembly will be on the Traeger.
Ready crusts like Boboli personal size go in the ninja.
Nice list of ingredients. Extra cheese of course. Do use only mozzarella or a mix of cheeses?

Sorry just abide by pineapple.

I worked at the Mikes Pizza on Devonshire/Sepulveda in Mission Hills and the one on Van Nuys/Roscoe when I was in high school.

Pretty much...

It's some crazy azz 25 percent wine vodka. Super tasty and give you an Instant buzz!!!

Lots of olives, pepperoncinis and my favorite bloody Mary mix too.

Come try one!

I had been to both of those locations.
They also had one on
on Balboa/San Fernando Mission for a while.

Uncle Ernie’s in Chatsworth was really good pizza a long time ago. They are still there so maybe they are still good. I moved out of the area so I haven’t had a pizza there in over 20 years.
