Front cap lights on toy hauler...

They initially didn't work upon pickup a couple of weeks back so I took it in this Monday. They called next day saying it was a super easy fix (crossed wires/polarity issue) and that it's ready.

BUT they said the colors don't match LOL. The service writer says they don't know what scheme these are supposed to have but they guess (me included) that the far drivers side (right side in pics) should be cold white?

He also stated that it would be a royal bitch to change one out due to them being wired in series and behind all the bedroom stuff. Wife is suprisingly indifferent about it saying it isn't a big deal but the more I stare at it the more I think it looks stupid. Whatcha think? Fight to get it corrected or roll w it? I can't decide.

wonder if you can cut the leads on each outer light strip , then it will just leave the larger yellow ones working...

I never use mine, I don’t like them on when traveling or parked.

If you think you will use them, and want them to match, make the dealer fix them. The question is, assuming what they said is the truth, do you really want them ripping your bedroom apart to make the repair?

If it were my trailer, the answer would be no- but there’s a small chance you could refuse the repair but get something out of them for the inconvenience. That should have been caught at the factory or by the dealer on PDI.

Is there any chance the led strips are multicolor and need to be adjusted or setup differently?

All good questions, and no I really do not want them tearing into the trailer. I also don't know if the wiring on them has anything to do w the color temp or not.

I also have no clue if I will end up liking them or not. First trailer with them.

I would consider cutting the two outside ones but since they are wired in series, it could cut them all out if I cannot get ahold of enough wire to properly cap off etc.

Its a gamble, but I don't see power running though every light to the next in sequence, maybe a single feed that branches off to each strip behind the front cap yes.

I would email a picture to Shockwave and aske them directly.

In two years they will be sun faded dark brown and half of them won’t work.

I think they're cool in glamis to help find camp, but in the trailer park, I agree they are annoying. Probably just as annoying as me leaving my outside lights on though

LB superJET - Check out boogey lights website, they have many choices on replacing including how to’s. I did my Voltage trailer earlier this year, super easy and look better than when it was new due to them being a better quality than OEM.

Yeah, I completely agree w/ you all on the campsite having the lights on. I wouldn't think of running them at all but if we are in the middle of nowhere on BLM land then it sounds like a great idea to find camp after dusk. I just want everything working cuz even tho we got a fair deal we still paid thru the damn nose for this thing. On principle LOL

Negative. Haven't heard back from corporate over email at all. Taking it to SD this wknd with the fam so I will try and get further with the dealer after we have it home. Not suprised the big dogs don't reply to a small guy's email about it but I am not pleased.

On another note, anyone dealt with the porch pen panels and lowering the ramp to load? Do I need to remove the panels or are they supposed to swing into the hauler? On mine, the floor has a short dovetail to the ramp door and my pen panels don't look like they can swing in due to the floor's elevation change. I hope I don't have to remove them just to load bikes in. That would be dumb. Then again, so am I lol.

If the exterior cover is removable you could change all the lights out (assuming it’s LED tape light). Color is typical dictated by the tape light. Unless it’s RGB lighting, which you’d have a controller for. They shouldn’t be wired in series but maybe they are? 12v lighting in series will cause the last strand to be dimmer than the first typically.

Very hard to know without knowing the material, controllers etc.

Good point. They are just tape lights, and I have not tried to pull thru a hole to see how much slack is in there (if any).

I took mine off after the first few trips, I will never use them, maybe the next owner will. If I recall correctly you can have them folded outside hanging while the ramp door is down. Obviously you need to disconnect the cable
