Which place do you prefer on the Parker Strip and why?

Personally.... I'm a Fox's guy! I seem to enjoy myself there the most. I like the overall local feel it has and the people seem more genuine and have less drama. The bloody mary's kick ass, and i think there food is better than the rest on the river. Have I had good times at the other places? Sure! But 95% of the time I find myself back at Fox's.

Roadrunner always has some drunk punk that thinks hes the toughest guy in the bar and finds his way to me! Lol. The drink mix's are pretty solid and the bartenders always seem to take good care of you. Im hesitant to eat there with the cockroaches that I see frequently crossing across the bar.

Pirates Den is probably my least likely to go drink at. The drinks are weak as fuck and way overpriced! Food prices are great but the service is horrible at best! The sunsets are top notch though.

Sundance is finally back open, and the 2 times i visited this summer were not good impressions. They dont sell any top shelf vodkas! well...if you consider skyy and popov top shelf then I guess you'll be ok. Bar service was beyond shitty when we went both times, and there was maybe 15 people in the place with 2 bartenders at the main bar inside. It took 15min for them to even acknowledge us to get a drink!

Foxes and roadrunner are at a tie for me, depending on who is up with me. I have yet to be at sundance since the reopen as I have not heard many good things. Maybe I'll try it this weekend.

As for Pirates, :finger:fingers::smackbum:

For the few times we hit Parker this summer, we drank at Pirate's. Coors Lights. No food. Mountains were blue, so all is well.

I don't get to parker much but here is my take.

For a good stiff inexpensive drink I like road runner. The bartenders are really nice 99% of the time and the music is always good.

The food sucks at all of them imo.

Out of the bad I'd say the cantina for food is the best for lunch or dinner if you have to.

I don't care for foxes for one reason. A particular bartender. Just rubs me the wrong way. Like sneaky crooked type of a person and the drinks are weak.

I don't care for any of the pirate stuff. I've never had good meal or good service at any of them and it's just to spendy for the quality it lacks imo.

I've never seen a fight at any of them (don't go enough I'm sure)

Don't really care which one I go to...find ourselves at night almost always at RR and during the day is Fox's. For me its about who I'm with...I have had a blast at all of them...the food tastes ok at all of them (prob since I'm drinking I'm sure) but the quality of food is the best at Pirates. I will hang out at any one of them at any time makes no difference to me.

Fox's and Red Rock are where I like to stay. I saw the pic of Badenoch's there closed now.

Roadrunner for breakfast, Foxes to party or hang out. Occasionally eat breakfast at Foxes but they are not open for breakfast weekdays. Hate Pirates, never go there any more, Sundance have not been to since it re-opened

Foxes in the AM or afternoon....my favorite spot on the river

I haven't been to Roadrunner in quite some time.

Pirates has the nicest setting/docks with the shittiest food/service and drinks

Cantina is ok but nothing is stellar

I haven't been out at night since I had my kid. I really don't care for the river bar scene when the sun sets. To many bro's out on holiday weekends.

I would much rather drink on my own stoop:):cool

Unfortunately I'm only in Parker a couple times a year, but here's my impressions.

Fox's-Only been a few times. First time stopped by with family for food it was half full. Talking to a local he said he'd been coming for decades and didn't want to bash the place, but he was done. He said he'd ordered food an hour ago and was still waiting.....we left.
2nd time came with a big group on boats for late breakfast. We were pretty much the only people there. Food was fine. But the older bartenderess appeared to be burned out and had better things to do than serve us. We ordered some frozen drinks, and got them...then a few minutes later more of our group arrived and wanted frozen drinks (out of the ice grinding thingy) She rolled her eyes and got them asking "will there be any more of these?" I said no. Sure enough 5 minutes later more friends want more frozen drinks. You would have thought the lady had to walk down to Roadrunner to get them by her reaction. Anyway, her attitude and slow food were my only complaints. We still had a good time.

Roadrunner-Fair food, big filling greasy breakfast (perfect). Strong drinks. Kids love running around the place. Many of the patrons look like complete douchebags but still often jump up to help you tie your boat, never had a problem with anyone. We usually go here.

Pirates-Only had beer, a couple shots, and burgers. All have been good.

I agree. But have to say that as much as I enjoy foxes, I probably won't be back for a while due to the shitty treatment and attitude I have to deal with from that biker bar back. He has 86'd me more times than I can count. Yeti money is still always welcome. He always seems to confront me after I have closed out my bar tab. Other than that douchebag it's foxes in the day and road at night.

Pirates just doesn't do it for me and sundance has some work to do.

Marc, you pretty much nailed my feelings about each spot 100%

RR isn't too bad Fall, Winter an Spring with the douche crowd... But still, Fox's is my home :thumbsup

Kim the wanna-be biker has been on a good one lately. Other than him and Carey the bartender's shitty attitude the place is pretty solid! :thumbsup

Road Runner for breakfast and Pirates for lunch. Dinner will be at the pad or up at the lake.

RR, just cause it's where I've been going 35 years for breakfast, feels like home to me.

Pirates...well...cause Badnoches (sp) is closed.

Agreed......it's no roadrunner ;) but none the less a good place to drink. But like Lynch said it's more the people that make the bar than the actual bar itself.

Kim "took pictures" of my boat so he can post them on a sign that let's everyone know we aren't welcome back. Funny thing thiugh the phone he had in his hand didn't have a camera.

Carey has been pleasant to me lately (she ignores me). If she is the only bartender Billdo doesn't get drinks. Lol. I actually have to send my girlfriend up to order drinks.

Roadrunner for breakfast if I a crew over 6 and kids.

I like breakfast at Pirate if it's just a couple, but I'm still pissed they raised price on specials and left the damn sign on 62 for months. They only have breakfast Saturday and Sunday and it's not real busy so service isn't as bad as dinner.

I really prefer fox's for midday drink after hanging at the small sandbar. I actually like the mudslides, it is nice to have a sweet drink mixed in with the beer.

Sundance. Well it is getting more people in, but to me it's just an attempt to revive the old vibe. Nice effort but no thanks.

Club Paradise in Echo. Dave wrote about it last week. Food is good and inexpensive. Beer is cheap. Love the pools for cooling off and letting the kids play while adults throw a few back. I don't even stay at Echo, but I do stop by this bar once or twice a year.

I'm rarely in Parker anymore but when I am a beer at Fox's is always good. I camped with my family there as a kid in a '65 Dodge van. Good memories.

In order:

Foxes - (Delisha is a great bar tender)...always love bringing the crew down when she is working
Roadrunner - Although moving down on the list....fun atmosphere at night
Pirates - Starting to become a go to lunch spot....also benefits from having lots of boat parking and love what they have made that bar into

Sundance - Likely be 2nd by next summer...Went my first time since reopen and I will go back...great happy hour prices and good drinks..(can't comment on the food) and the bar by the water is a great people watching place...also the little section they have in the water next to the bar where you can hang with your drink and it has benches is a really cool add....I will be going back.

Wow...she ignores you and Summer...she bitches about making blended drinks and has an all around shitty attitude...can someone tell me why she still has a job there? I guess all you have to do in that town is show up and you keep your job no matter how good or bad you are at it.

Only been to parker a couple times.Either foxes or road runner for me i like the lay out at foxes better though. Both have that laidback feel where if you walk in with sandals and just trunks you fit in.

Been to roadrunner at nighttime as well and its what described about some looking for a fight some guys think their mma wanna bes for sure and others just looking to fight someone.Happened with my cousin one kid kept following him around trying to get my cousin to provoke him.The kid finally just jumped in front later in the night and knocked his hat off and pushed my cousin then his friends popped out too to get in on it but it didnt go any further when they found out there were more of us.

My cousin and his buddys are all LASD so they he really didnt want to get into a fight since dpt policy wont be too friendly if they found out.Just had security boot the other group out

As for pirates tried it last time as soon as walked up it didnt feel right most were dressed like they were going for lunch or dinner and came by car or truck plus its overpriced as well.

Sundance RV park opening in November, or that's what the sign says.
Outlaw of Sundance is the old RiteSpot/Lizards.
They've been working on it the last couple of months. Been told tree houses a club house and cabanas at the old empire landing site.

But none of that is in Rio?
You may be talking about the Rio clubhouse it's been there for years and I'm sure you would have noticed it before.

Fuck pirates.

RR has never let us down. Drinks are always made right and always on Dave's tab :D. I'm scared to go there at night cause I heard there is a guy who beats people up in the bathrooms.

Been going to foxes more and more. Foods getting better, few of the bar tenders are nice.

Haven't been to sundance.

Shipwrecked at sandbar resort is the sleeper on the river. Cold drinks and very low key. Foods good as well

The Rio Del Colorado clubhouse is now a family ran Mexican food place with beer and wine license. We've had good food there, but service has sucked. They're hit and miss on hours though this year Fri lunch - Sun lunch was normally open.

They've been there the last two years. Great carne asada fries.

I don't think this is what Dave is talking about though. They haven't updated the outside of the building. They did fox some old parts of the dock though.

The old Rio bar is the Mexican place. I think he's actually talking about the clubhouse with the pool and community room.

Yep, you're right. We were there a few weeks ago and nothing much had changed to the clubhouse either. Mostly hung out at the pool though and didn't go inside. Will be out there agin later this month; will be interesting if they changed it up.

Was at the Rio last weekend. The ladies that run it stay at Echo. Always great service for me but I know them well. What can they do to better serve you? I hang with there family and they are all Great people. I am sure they would appreciate any insight to make customers happy. The Posole there hits the spot after a night of drinking.

Our local spot at Echo Paradise takes care of me the best. Been trying to tell them they need better docking setup for boaters that want to stop by.

The rest of the bars it all depends on who is working.

Last year we talked to the younger guy when they first opened and they were awesome. I think he said he used to run a food truck?

Just a couple weeks ago we went over for dinner and the older man dropped off chips, but no salsa and no drink order. I went and got a salsa, a pitcher of water and glasses from the bar. We sat 10 minutes with no one else coming over. There were two other tables waiting and three girls working there watching TV at the bar. A large group came in and hugged some of the servers then sat and were served drinks and had their food order taken. At that point we did leave.

Like I said good food. We've had good service there too. However the last few times I felt like we were wasting their time.

Jeff was fired a couple of weeks ago! It sure seems like since they've been at least attempting to clean up the parks and be more sensitive to the homeowners. This is very overdue, the rent has gone from 285.00 to 500.00 over the last 15 years.

Totally agree with you on Paradise. I know I'd stop in more if the dock could handle it.

New Manager Gary is much more easy going than Jeff. I had no issues with Jeff and we got along great but I know a lot of others did not. They cleaned up the bar added a bunch of palapas and have been doing some upgrades to the park. The rent increase chased off even more homeowners than the last increase two years ago. My payment is $5 more than my friends mortgage in Havasu.

Funny you say that, just sold my Havasu place and the payment before taxes was 465.00. Last month with electric my bill was 625.00 for a single wide. Jeff was a bit of a dictator and I for one am glad he is gone!

We stay at pirates, and have done so for the last 2 years. Aside from one bad experience with a manager in the inside Resturant, we've always had excellent service at the park and bar there. If you like seafood, try the Ceviche at the bar. If you don't like it, I'll buy you a drink and shot of your choice! I know the bartenders and servers by now, and I tip well, so I get treated well in exchange.

The Cantina is great for lunch and a couple of bloodys, then head over to the sandbar to hang out for a while.

We had breakfast a Fox's last weekend, and it was amazing. The (older) bartender was a little harsh at first, but relaxed after a while. I've been there many times in party mode, but I don't really take the family there now.

I know its not a party spot, but we LOVE Buckskin for pizza/beer/margaritas for lunch on any day. Kids can play in the arcade, girls can shop in the boutique, and I can sit on the patio and drink beer. Lol.

We went to Echo Paradise a couple of trips ago, and everybody had fun. As stated, they need better boat parking, and we would easily go back. We probably still will, though, even if we have to beach in front of somebody's camp site.

As for RR, no complaints ever. The time that I got asked to leave because I was too drunk, well, I deserved it. Big thanks to the girls that got me home safe that night...

As a teenager, we stayed at Echo quite often. We would always hear Sundance, and wish to God that we could get over there somehow. Maybe once it gets going again we will go check it out.

We have always wondered about the Mexican place, next time we will try it out for sure.

Buckskin has $3.50 pitchers for happy hour and damn good pizza and wings. They are having end of year CLEARANCE sale at the boutique right now. Buy 1 get 1 free and 25 percent of sunglasses. Just got 2 pairs of Reefs for $50.

Love that place. I HATE shopping, and I can be in and out of the boutique in about 10 minutes, and have 2 pairs of board shorts, 2 pairs of sandals, and some glasses for next season. Then I go drink happy hour pitchers while the girls shop for their free stuff...
