Ummm, I'm all for those fucks being unofficially shot :thumbsup in fact dead would be even better --- but, I wasn't aware we were allowed to chase and or follow them outside and shoot them in the driveway ? :headscratch:

I thought we had to be in fear for our lives, not outside chasing down bad-fucks running away in fear for their lives ? :headscratch:

Good to go or not so much ?

Peace officer 24/7 is why I'd gather the chase would be okay or at least a lot easier to explain. I don't believe there is a section taught in the academy on running away.

Now with that said the story doesn't say he shot just to shoot. Perps were going for waistband.

All I'm saying is how I read it. Don't flame me.

News stories are stupid. First a bunch of this happens and is not reported because it's a regular Joe and the media doesn't want to admit that good guys with guns is the way to stop bad guys with guns unless the good guy happens to be a cop.

Secondly I'd be pissed at the idiot media. Now everyone and their mama knows what station Lieu works at and knows the block his street is in and has a picture of it.

I don't have too many juicy details to share but I'm sure it will come out soon. Slanted one way or the other to benefit the media though.

Unsure of where the shootings actually occurred (Inside or out), but if the person squeezing the trigger can "Articulate" the fear for himself and others, there is a chance the shooting could be considered "Justified." That will be left up to the Sheriff's Department and LAPD brass who will conduct the investigations.

I'm sorry this type of event happens to anyone, but it's a sign of the times. People are tired of being victimized and they are fighting back. I support those decisions but I hope people who are not in law enforcement are seeking the proper training with regards to firearm ownership and aren't simply "Buying a gun."

Pretty irresponsible for the media to report the street and block the LEO lived on.

Law enforcement agencies typically release that type of information to the media regarding the street and the hundred block where an incident occurs. I believe it has to do with the public's right to know and the Public Records Request Act. It sucks in this incident because the victim is a law enforcement officer.....but that's all part of the job and comes with the territory.

Crap either way no matter who releases it. And just because they got the info doesn't mean they need to print. They slant everything else so why not be a little more vague. You know off duty officer, San Gabriel. That's all that's needed. No agency let alone station and rank and also no block needed. Even with FOIA things are redacted and there is also a log of who requested the info so if it's used for malicious proposes they know where to start.

And with that said I believe the cities and PD's can be a little more discreet. I swear a nuclear weapon could be found and diffused in my city and if it made the papers it would be a little blip in the local city rag. Have had big stuff happen and go looking for clips and there is either nothing or it is very vague.
