Chatting w/ my Dad last night at dinner & I was asking him about the first house he lived in, (born in 1932)
He knew right away . . . "on Magnolia between Washington and W. Pico Blvd" .
I said, "Let's look it up on Google Maps" . . . of course the 'old guy' replies, "Meehhhh, I'm sure it's long gone".
Low and Behold it's still standing and looks in decent shape !!! . . . .
Of course that opened the flood gates for 'story time'.
So I guess my Grandma & Grandpa were never married, or something like that . . . he wasn't a good dude.
He said my Grandma rented the upstairs w/ my Dad & they lived there for several years.
Then he said, "See that little window w/ the small roof upstairs, ? . . . that room was tiny, maybe 4 feet wide by 6 or 7 feet long, there was a little old man who rented that one room & lived in there for a few years".
Next week we're gonna roll up there to check it out then go have lunch at Langers Deli afterwards . . . looking forward to a trip down memory lane w/ Pops !!!!!
