Anyone have one? What’s your thoughts or opinions about it. Thinking about buying one just to drive back and forth from Simi Valley to AZ once a week. Might save me some gas money. Going to test drive one this week.

I don’t have one, but I have a few friends they do. One uses it as his personal daily driver and really likes it. It replaced a Ford Ranger. My other friend bought two of them for his electrical contractor company. Both are XLT trims, and they put shells on both. He really likes them. He said the gas savings for them was huge, and if they need something big or heavier then the Maverick will hold, they either bring it in the Transit Van or have it delivered to the job site. They did say the payload weight was pretty weak, but works for them.

BIL is retired hose dragger. His new gig is Arson Investigator for insurance companies. He drives a crap load. Had a Prius but got sick on putting his smelly gear inside. Sold Prius and got a used Maverick. Fire equipment now goes in the bed of the "truck". He loves it. 39 mpg!

Sounds like no one really has anything bad to say about them. That’s a good thing.

I had ordered a 2023 ended up taking so long they changed the order to a 2024, XLT, hybrid. Finally Got it in May of 2024. Very Very happy with the truck. Just got back for the 2nd day in a row from a 50 mile round trip errand all city streets averaging 50 miles an hour and got 47mpg. I have driven it to Vegas a bunch of times, 130 miles each way and average 38-42 depending on how fast I drive and pass. Air blows ICE COLD during the hottest part of summer, rides really nice and stable at low speed and at 80/85mph, after being my main daily driver now for almost 9 months I would positively get one again. I heard next year they are coming out with a 4x4 option for the hybrid, might be interesting.

just to bad the awd cant be flat towed...
Ford says both can be flat towed and owners manual and info needs to be updated to the public. That was one of our concerns in getting another Mav but this time an AWD Hybrid.

When I replied to today's (12/12/24) email stating that Dawn McKenzie earlier sent me an email stating that in fact both 2WD & AWD Hybridd can be towed 4 Down and that the Owners manual would be updated,

DaVonya C. Lyons | Ford Executive Offices stated that he would contact Dawn Mckenzie to correct the information released.

saying the 2025 units cannot and only the FWD models can.

Edit: sure is all over the place. Looks to be the Hybrid can as it was updated a month ago. But you cannot exceed 70mph while towing. 😎

Agree, should have called it the Courier.

They should have called it a Ranger and come up with something different for the mid-size pick-up. The Maverick is almost the exact size of the OG Ranger and fills the same market niche.

I've considered one but I need more room in the backseat. And I will find no quarter for the "Bronco Sport", even though it is the exact same platform. 🤣

The Maverick should have been called the Rancharo as it’s a unibody truck on a car platform, just as the original Rancharo was.

I guess Ford thought Maverick sounded cooler, and the current generation of drivers, probably has no idea that the Maverick was a car.

Just drove a 2025, looking for a cheaper beater vehicle that can haul some shit like gas cans, a bike ect .
Found out it is built in Mexico along side the Bronco Sports.
Wont buy a car assembled out of the USA.

Owned a 2023 Maverick Hybrid. Awesome fuel economy. I had zero issues during ownership. For me the back seat was too small for adults, I'm a city boy now so the bed was only used for water softner salt or a case of water. Traded it in after about 9 months got a few bucks more than I paid. The Hybrids were still in demand.

There is a Maverick Truck club website. Lots of info, much like RDP.

I like the looks of the truck but with previous experience with the 2.0l engine I couldn't buy one. My wife drove and Edge with that engine and it was nothing but problems. It was in the shop often and finally grenaded about 80k. We take of of our stuff but it seems we got a bad one

Not sure when it changed but the current 2.0L in the Maverick is a new engine.

I'd buy the Hybrid. The 2.5L Hybrid engine has been around for ever. Unless of course you want to add performce goodies to the engine.

I feel Ford has no clue what is accurate or not at this point. I have read on Ford forums that Ford Corporate agents state AWD Hybrids and standard can be flat towed for 2025 and future units and the owners manual error needs fixing) I have also read only Hybrids, It Will be interesting to see which unit actually and cannot be towed. I always wonder how any Billion dollar company does not have the accurate information readily available prior to productions.

I might look into one a little deeper for a toad and get rid of our explorer, then use if for commuting to work.

Hey, I recognize that Golf Cart, hows it treating you?
Great, I had to change the starter relay and carb when I first got it and it fixed the issues, runs great, got it for the wife and she loves it.

I really wanted to buy a Maverick Hybrid in 2022 when my old Toyota finally died after 300K miles. Back then there was zero inventory available so I opted for a Honda Accord and was lucky to find it when I did as I had no vehicle to commute to work. I may have to take another look again since inventories are available again.

I might order a Tesla Model 2 when they become available in 2026 for a commuter car to go back & forth to work and just use the Honda for driving to the river on weekends.

If the dealer has a markup let them know OK then I will order it for MSRP. They usually will drop the price close enough or even beat it now a days.

My wife really likes the look. I think it has a place but after my bad experience with my expedition, I'd be hard pressed to give them any coin.
